Is this Really Anderson "The Spider" Silva's Boxing Record?

kid arent you tired of dominating MMAddcicted and Mystic?

they're like that battered wife who just keeps coming home for one last asskicking.

great work as always.

Ya, I am, but like you and all the rest of us including MMAddcicted and Mystic, we do this crap for our own amusement, do we not ?

Damn Kid!

I suppose I do have a cynical tendency my friend, which it might seem is something, besides being a fight fan, that we share in common.

In this case, however, I did take a few minutes out of my busy day to seek out some information for you, the substance of it being still inadequate notwithstanding, so it

Oh I wouldn't dream of ever reaching your level of cynicism, Kid.

If you are offended by my remarks you should show some integrity and acknowledge that you instigated them with your own insults.

I don't tolerate unwarranted disrespect from anyone.

As for your rant, you're preaching to the choir. I never insinuated that Silva losing his Boxing debut was unreasonable. The fact is that the 1998 fight is a recent addition to his record when it has been previously reported that his 2005 fight was his debut. I have never questioned the credibility of Boxrec as a reputed source. I know that the record keeping is meticulous. But no one is perfect, I have given legitimate reasons for questioning the record and went to the Boxing forum first when seeking corroborative evidence for this fight.

I'm sure you guys get a lot of hecklers from the rest of the board and have to keep on your toes but if you can't see that my thread is purely inquisitive on a rational topic and believe instead that it is something other than what has been presented I'm not going to waste time convincing you of my sincerity.

You can believe whatever you want to believe. I am looking for corroborative sources for this fight. You've offered a lead I intend to look into it. If anyone else can provide concrete proof from this lead that would be great.

No one is asking for time machines and DNA samples. Video footage. News articles scans. Any legitimate, documented evidence that corroborates Boxrec's info is appreciated.

No hard feelings brother.
I would be antagonistic not toward you, poster, but rather, toward the

Fair enough. If nothing else, we've gained a little understanding on boxrec's rationale for the change.

This sorta reminds me of the scandal that occurred when Macmillian's Baseball Encyclopedia removed 60 hits from Cap Anson's total, leaving him with a "mere" 2995 safeties and depriving him of the title of baseball's first 3000 hit man (since restored). Several sportswriters screamed at the "injustice" and advocated that the change be expunged out of respect to baseball's glorious tradition. Apparently error, unlike murder, has a statute of limitations.

Great post.

who fucking cares if you're convinced is authentic or not? fuck off

its funny how they admit to recently adding the 1998 bout but then can't materialize any proof for the bout.

if they recently added it, what did they look at a record that said "Anderson Da Silva" and just assumed it was the anderson silva... SMH

and then they claim it was an amateur bout? makes no sense at all

McCoy said later it was a Professional bout. Why would a guy with a 20-2 record have an amatuer bout with someone with no experience?

I dont see why this wouldnt be legit? And frankly who cares. He lost, get over it. It was 10 years ago. Hes better now than he was 10 years ago thats for sure.

i'll believe it when i see the slightest bit of proof

so far there has been absolutely none materialized

I hope he doesnt box Roy Jones

It'll bring down his rep as the hardest man alive haha :P

or kill boxing because of the puncher's chance.

not really, cause it will set him up for a superfight with a champ, in which he will get destroyed (punchers chance rarely happens twice)

but if he does beat the champ, then silva will go down as the greatest FIGHTER ever.
