While it's not the same movie, there's a YT clip of the curb stomp scene from American History X and one of the highest rated comments is "Not all heroes wear capes". While the comment itself could be ironic, I doubt literally all the upvotes are. So yes, I think so.

I'm not so sure, there are some people that got a really shitty deal in life. It doesn't apply to most incels but it's true. There was that guy who founded 8chan, one of the incel hotbeds, look at him

It's become a phenomenon due to how easy it is to create online gathering places. A handful of these losers started chatting one day and slowly their communities grew and are able to "recruit" by finding lonely "nice guys" and inviting them to their reddit or discord groups with the intent of converting them.

I think it's a result of supporting Victim Culture.

Not being able to get laid wasn't something you brag about and it wasn't something you blamed on everyone else but yourself.

But victim culture says that any negative feelings and experiences one a may endure are a result of a systemic wronging against the group you're currently associating with.

In our modern society where you are not allowed to hate any of the traditional groups people have hated throughout history: Jews, minorities, homosexuals, women, etc, we needed a new group that it was socially acceptable to hate because human nature demands one. The incel is that socially acceptable whipping boy.

As a society we haven't seemed to be able to find a way to end hate, so we've picked a group that 99% of people were comfortable with hating. Incels fit the bill nicely.

Its more like these guys spend their lives spreading hate on the internet rather than helping themselves. If these guys came off as respectful and simply asked for advice they would get a ton of sympathy and help. The problem is they spend their lives trolling comment sections with stuff like "they can't get women because feminists sluts have been brainwashed by Jews to want inferior minorities rather than superior white men" or some variation. The only times I've seen the term used is in reference to guys with bad attitudes who do not want help.

To answer the TS, the term is new, but the phenomenon is as old as humanity. Unfortunately nature did not intend for every man to mate.

Funny part is I've seen some unattractive guys get some good looking girls from pure confidence. Now they won't land a 10, but 6-9s is open game for a guy who has confidence and can hold a normal conversation.

The same ive seen good looking guys who couldn't even land a girl if they were given $1000 and dropped of in a red light district.
