I'd much rather see him fight for the title than Gaethje or Paddy but as a promoter, I get why the UFC wants him to re-earn that trust.

When Khabib/Tony were forced to pull out, both needed to win a fight before getting a titleshot again.

Had Arman fought and won since his pull-out he'd be the obvious next contender and this whole debacle wouldn't be happening.

He only didn't fight Movsar because he knew he could get a title shot. He refused Mov again once he was champ because he knew he was going to get someone bigger like Max or a shot at LW. Also, I don't think he gives a fuck about being a champion, but more just about getting the biggest fights he can.

I'm not saying it's good or bad, but he keeps getting away with it, so why wouldn't he keep doing it?

But give him no choice and he'll fight whoever the UFC tells him to.

It ain't going to be Arman anyway. The UFC are still pissy at him. I think they'll definitely go Paddy. Paddy is probably getting wrecked if he fights anyone decent, and he sorta has to fight someone decent now. Topuria wants to cherry pick opponents. He avoided Evloev at 145 pounds, now he's avoiding Arman at 155. He's only willing to take risks when it comes to title shots.

IMO Topuria recognizes that Arman is a very dangerous opponent. If he's going to take that risk, he might as well wait to see if Islam wins the welterweight belt. If so, the risk/reward is much better to move up to 170 and fight Islam, rather than fight Arman at 155 pounds.

I've given Toppy nothing but props and was quite congratulatory, even when he won on fight day in the play by play. It isn't my fault this swath of newfound 'diehard' Topuria fans have him so far down their throat that no one can even hint at something that isn't glowing about him without you guys going all out to hate on people for it, lol.

Paddy makes the most sense. He's on a winning streak, has been active, and hasn't missed weight unlike Justin(winning streak) & Arman(kissed weight).

He's also a huge star and him vs Ilia would make for the biggest fight the UFC can make.

It's the best fight available. They should make it. I think it's that simple. He's on a four fight win steak with a close loss to Gamrot. If you think he won that, it's nine. Thinking he should be next over both Gaethje and Paddy who's beating up guys on their retirement tour isn't outlandish.
