When asked who was the goat , Topuria first time being asked, still speaking Spanish, said Jon Jones and made a case to say "it's funny when people compare Jon Jones and Khabib like they are on the same tier... I wouldn't base anything on Topuria saying Khabib isn't on the same level as Jon Jones lol. Even Khabib has acknowledged several times that Jones is the greatest fighter.

He might not. Who knows though. He has said Islam wasn't ducking. But more often than not he says he was... Perhaps it's promotion or perhaps he thinks both. He understands but he also thinks it's ducking too. Conflicting statements can exist and both forms of expression can be true to his feeling without he needing to fake a side necessarily.

They have some minor internet beef and keep on calling each other out, thats it.

The Dagis started it by denying Ilja the right to move up because he did not fight their brethen Mosvar, altough they did had a scheduled fight in the past and we all know who polled out (SPOILER: it was the Russian).

Then after he moved up they tried to spread their "truth" that he has to fight a contender first before he can challenge the title.

Ilya responded to that by calling Islame a duck for not fighting him, who then called him again out for moving up without fighting Mosvar - which our own Bathtubbers on the Dawg supported and added that Islame can not be a duck because he is moving up to fight a bigger fighter, all while failing to see that by this logic also Ilja cannot be a duck for not remaining in FW to fight Mosvar because he is also going up AND wanting to fight Islame and not some newly crowned untested champ.

So, all in all, they run in circles and nothing will come out.

Volk already showed in the first fight that a shorter fighter can deal with the wrestling.

Difference is that Topuria only needs a single shot to finish Islam. Islam will have to close the distance at some point and Illia is great at short distance.

The risk for Illia is imo a knee or kick from Islam. I think he has enough ground game to survive / get up though when taken down.
