Media "If not for Jon Jones I would have got a title shot long ago" - Volkov

Stop pretending like Pav + Blaydes (1-1 with and not even 1-0) is somehow better than Gane + Stipe.

Tom isn’t some superior champion and he’s not even more active. Y’all just hate Jones.

SAD
Lol, Tom is ranked 1 and has finished #3, 4, 5, 7 and 8 all in the 1st round. Jon has 1 win over any current fighter, and 1 over an old guy he pulled out of 4 years of retirement, who then immediately retired again, and those are his only fights in 5 years. Tom has 8 fights in that time, and the only reason he doesn't have even more is entirely because he's the interim champ being forced to wait for the champ who's refusing to fight.

How many times do you think is normal for someone to defend an interim title? You think he should have like 3 or 4 interim title defenses, literally clear out the entire top 8 and start rematching guys before the "champ" takes 1 legit title defense?

Nice strawman argument to avoid the fact Tom's reign isn't the super impressive thing you guys pretend it is.

I genuinely can't tell if you're this bought in on the Jones con or if you're this dedicated to a trolling. It's either really sad or really impressive.
Nobody believes you guys actually think Pav and Blaydes is infinitely better than Gane and Stipe.

He doesn't have a "reign", he's been the interim champ for a year and a half waiting on the paper champ and already had to defend an interim title because the paper champ refuses to fight anybody but retired senior citizens. I hear he's got a big fight with Ken Shamrock planned for end of the year.

I mean I guess congrats to Jon for having his first couple year stretch in like 15 years without getting arrested for punching chicks, crashing cars wasted, hit and run, or failed steroid test to get stripped again, but he should be stripped again now for blatantly refusing to unify the title.

The amount of bitching you guys would be doing if Jon had instead defended against Blaydes like Tom did would be equally as nauseating as the Stipe bitching.

But when Tom does it, to become 1-1 with the guy and not even 1-0, it's great.

In 20 years of watching MMA, this is by far the most irritating storyline of all IMO. Dana needs to go and so does most of the matchmakers. Matchmaking has been awful and management is blatantly biased and wildly inconsistent.

How much value does Tom going 1-1 with Blaydes have
I don’t think the L means a whole lot when it was due to knee injury and then Tom came back and avenged it in a super early, dominant KO win.

Plus ok, let’s see Jon fight someone of curtis’ calibre - he won’t. If Curtis or Pavlovich won instead of Tom and was interim champ, Jon would duck them too.

Now you've been reduced to coming up with fake "would be", while the rest of us are talking about what actually is because Jon has held up the division refusing any credible defense for approaching 2 1/2 years. Yeah, the choice was not Blaydes or Stipe, there's been a goddamn interim champ that Jon has refused to fight for over a year and a half and it wasn't either of those guys.

And again, since apparently you didn't get it the first 100 times everybody has told you, the interim champ isn't supposed to have to "defend" an interim title at all, he's supposed to fight the guy with the belt next, because that's what a goddamn interim title is, but he couldn't because the paper champ is a coward.

Yeah all of Blaydes, Volkov and Aspinall have all been vocal now about how pissed off they are at the UFC for freezing the division.

All for a guy who's not even looking to fight the current Interim champ. UFC has botched this entire situation to a horrible degree

Volkov couldn't convince 2/3 judges that he won after deciding to wrestle Gane for 3 rounds. Sure, Volkov probably edged the fight, but it was closer than people exaggerate it to be like he beat the shit out of Gane for 3 rounds straight. Not to mention 3 years earlier Gane beat Volkov in a 5 round fight and made it look easy on the feet which is where Volkov is supposed to be best at. Tim Johnson was robbed in Volkov's first UFC fight, rewatch that if you want to see a robbery.

I like how you’re pretending Tom in his own home town, against the last guy who beat him, did some big numbers by contrast instead
I like how you're pretending ANY fighter is doing big numbers right now. Unless you can actually prove otherwise, Tom is as big of a draw as Jon, Max, DP, or Pereira are.

His "reign" is a convenient way for you to avoid comparing their HW resumes in their totality. Jones still has those two fights. Tom is 8-1 with his lone loss a freak non contact injury. (Don't try to sell your stupid bullshit about how Blaydes caused it by posting pics from the wrong angle and making up garbage. EVERYONE saw through you there and even other Jones supporters wouldn't back up your moronic claim). Of his 8 wins, 7 first round finishes and one second round finish.

Incoming "tHat's nOt WhAt wE weRE TalKInG abOUt!!"

Its getting harder to defend the UFC's actions with this issue. But there will always be people who will.

Ive said this before but i just want there to be one HW champ and that the division moves along. Jones vs Tom, Jones retiring and Tom being elevated to full champ, or Jones retiring and Tom vs Almeida or Volkov for the undisputed championship are three options that are all good with me

Dude...he didn't "probably edge the fight". He won, and it was absolutely a robbery on par with Volkov/Johnson.

20 media members scored the Volkov/Gane rematch. Wanna guess how many had it for Gane? Exactly...one. There's just no way to justify giving Gane 2 rounds in that fight. None.

Yes, he was injured and it probably played a role. But Gane lost and was gifted an awful robbery.

And just a reminder, Jon has only fought 2 guys who are even still in the UFC, and one of the two them was a robbery decision that he really lost.
