It's kind of crazy how Jones completely killed the HW division, Nobody really knows or cares when HWs are on a card because there really is no HW title picture for anyone to be concerned with or discuss. There's been an interim champ for over a year and a half, Jon's been the "champ" for well over 2 years now with 1 fake defense against a senior citizen coming off a KO loss years earlier,, and the division hasn't moved in years because Jones refuses any real fight and the UFC refuse to strip him, so now any time there's a HW fight on a card, the only real fan reaction "oh ok".

He's 9-3 since then, and should be 10-2 (though I don't even remember the first Cyril or Blaydes fights). Only stoppage loss in that time coming to Aspinall himself. If Jon wasn't around, he likely would have fought for a title in that time.

Pav hadn’t even beaten Blaydes when Jones/Stipe was announced. Stipe was ranked ahead. Pav was still made the backup but the UFC moronically made Pav/Tom when Jones pulled out instead of Stipe/Pav.
