If Jon Jones gets banned for 4 years and retires, would you be happy or sad?

Rationally i fully get that Jon Jones deserves to be punished quite severely as a repeated offender.

But ultimately i see MMA as entertainment & the more high quality fighter (and therefore fights) the MMA universe has the better, so i would be highly disappointed if one of the most talented fighters story would end with a (basically) forced retirement. Especially considering the current state of LHW.

And i'm not even a fan of JJ per se, i would love to see him lose one day fair and square, but that can only happen if he gets to resume his career in a decent time period. Would love to see JJ vs. Gustaffson 2 or JJ vs DC 3 or JJ moving up to HW (albeit unlikely).

Still i get why some want to see JJ get the full punishement.

Sad because it's a waste and could of been avoided

Happy.

People like Jones are bad for the sport.

This. Sad to see wasted potential.

But a pattern of stupid behavior shouldn't invite pity either.

Zero fucks given, the show must go on. Only a matter of time before another killer takes his place.

Anyone who says "happy" must rethink their petty existence

Jon Jones is a repeated cheater, steroid abuser sack of shit, who already has a huge height / reach advantage on everyone he's ever fought. Guy is a literal chicken shit, and has to cheat to win at LHW, God forbid HW.

I think it's fair for him to be punished, but that doesn't mean I would be happy about it. I mean... does it make me happy when criminals go to jail? I want them to be arrested, but I'm not happy about such a reality.

So yeah, I want Jon to be properly punished, but that does not mean I will be happy about it.

Are you actually fucking retarded?

Of course I'm happy about it. The guy is a parasite / cancer to the organization, a literal walking disaster that when he's not getting arrested for hit and runs, cocaine and other offenses? He's getting busted for steroids, and incapable of stringing 2x wins together without a failed test.

I know you raped my daughter.... It's only fair that they punish you. I'm not happy about it though bro, I'm really not happy.

Wow brother, you got full triggered in record time.

A or B?
Neither, I'd feel bad because I hate to see wasted talent but good because it sets an important precedent and would send a strong message that the company is serious about cleaning up the sport.

Way to use an extreme example.

I agree with @sirmorbach here. I think it might be right if Jones gets the book thrown at him. But I'm not happy as an MMA fan. The guy was one of the best and in his prime. Such an unnecessary waste.

Love him or hate him, few are ambivalent about him. If not the most skilled fighters ever, then top 3 without question. He's the Barry Bonds of MMA. You know he's a fucking cheater, but god damn is he fun to watch and the buzz he creates is awesome. Should his record be always noted with an asterisk? Hell yeah. Like Bonds, Macguire, and Sosa, he is full of natural talent that was improved through training, and PEDs. But that still doesn't take away from his ability whatsoever.
I'd hate to see him go, but it is what it is.

Wrong. The guy I'm responding to set the precedent, did you even read what I was responding to?

You may not be happy, but that's partly due to the fact you don't seem to care if people are cheating sacks of shit. I actually care, and I want less cheaters in the sport, so by proximity not only am I happy Jon Jones is getting busted, I actually think it'll help MMA in the long run.

I want to see if Jon can be great without drugs. Will he still be the best, top 5, top 10......want to see him in the Octagon when he is not surging with PEDS.
