Turns out when you make grand displays and tell people you're coming it's harder to catch them.

That's why they're resorting to harassing people trying to legitimately integrate with the system going through various visa and immigration processes because everyone else that most people would agree should be removed are just hiding.

The number of illegals in Minnesota isn't even worth the expense of a deployment of over 2000+ agents. There's only like 100,000.

That's because local and federal law enforcement were cooperating with each other, and Obama wasn't being called a Nazi who was using his "gestapo" to invade cities with, and local politicians and the media weren't riling up an angry mob to interfere with them. They actually allowed ICE to do their job. You tend to get less hairy situations that way, and less escalation of tactics to apprehend criminals who are being protected by the state.

You'll also notice how nobody on the left was complaining about "due process" back then either, because as we all know those millions of illegals he deported all got court trials, like they expect now. So yeah, different times and all that...

Because they counted turns away at the border as deportations. It is much harder to deport people from the interior of the country, rather than just detaining them at the border and turning the around.

Trump would have way more deportations if we counted the closed southern border, but people just aren’t showing up to be detained and deported

Well there was that time you guys claimed that a training exercise, Jade Helm, was a secret plan to deport everyone to FEMA camps. You even had the governor of TX show up and cry. Fox News ran segments on it for months.
