Good point. I like you so I'll let you in on the difference though.
ICE is an organization. A formal, governmental organization that has official capacities and roles, leadership and hierarchical system of function. They are taxpayer funded, and recognized to be representatives of the State/Country. They swear an oath and they have guns and badges. They have training and protocols, policies, code of conduct. We SHOULD expect more of them and from them.
A protestor can do something stupid and I'm going to treat that specific incident as such, and protestor doing a stupid thing.
But when even 1 ICE agent (we both know there's plenty of video evidence out where violations, abuses, right infringements are in the multiple now) is found to have committed misconduct, it is on the ORGANIZATION to swiftly hold them accountable. If there is no accountability or disciplinary procedures, then the Organization does not meet the expectations and standards that taxpayers should expect. And thus, it loses credibility and most importantly the trust of the public.
