Ian Garry - The Dying Star

Agreed on most points, however his cuckery has only enhanced his star. It's one of his most talked about aspects.

But yeah he's a boring point-fighter who couldn't even put Magny away

He was hitting Prates with some pretty good shots in the early rounds
I think Prates has a chin on him
And Garry takes fights on short notice against guys most people in his position would duck
He has my respect

I am not a fan of his style at all. It's extremely safe and risk averse which results in a lot of point fighting tendencies. That said, He's clearly talented and good at what he does. I expect he will be around in the rankings for a while, so, better get used to him.

This is a based take as usual from you.

We'll get a few more stinkers no doubt but fighters have to be prepared for this type of opposition.

I'm not even against point fighters in general -- some of my favorite fighters were largely point fighters like GSP, Edgar, volk etc etc -- So the fact that Ian's style bugs me is saying something lol. I think it's because Ian never looks particularly dominant doing his thing, and he rarely ever hurts guys. At least guys like GSP, edgar, and volk have had plenty of fights where they push the pace and rough guys up a bit, they get their hands dirty, you know what I mean? Ian's style is to just dictate the range and try to look pretty and pristine the whole fight. It's just not for me.

^^^^^^^^ This guy did not
Funny how a lot of posters in this thread I thought had some decent and objective analysis skills turned out to be complete numbskulls that just want to see a slugfest in which Ian Garry gets violently knocked out.

Some people on here are so weird

The day after any UFC card in the heavies is always like talking to children.

Very interesting analysis , you’re correct in a way, his wife’s cuckery with his meal chef, has given him more attention than fights themself. Great marketing move honestly.

It's not a real thing. You people are writing fan fiction.

Islam Makhachev is just not the guy we hoped he would be. He’s a boring weight bully, he got badly out-struck by Volk, and had to resort to crotch sniffing to barely squeak out a win. He should have lost to the manlet 2 years back.

Islam Makhachev "Mr P4P #1" couldn’t even outstrike an old shop worn Poirier. His only wins are against aging vets, and his performances are good, but who's impressed with him beating King Green? if it wasn't for the fact his bathtub buddy Khabib already had a game plan mapped out for him, Dustin would have had him in the 3rd.

This guys a dying star, nobody ever wants to bring up popping for PEDs and needing six months in-between every fight. Even now, after winning in the first round back in January he's saying he won't make a decision on his next fight until May.

If OP did a meta post just call out the fighter bashing, job well done, if not...

It's absolutely real. Ian Machado, whos last name is his wife's, is letting a man prepare his meals for him, the same man was deep inside of his wife years ago.

His last name is Garry, dipshit.

Keep your creepy sexual fanfiction to yourself.

Ian's a talented fighter but he don't got power, so he's got to stick and move.

He gets people down, but he just isn't a slick submission artist or a beast at holding people down...

He just tries to do his best out there with what he's got.

Because Prates absolutely blasted him with ground and pound after the reversal.

Here's a tip. Paying attention to what is happening in the fight really helps you understand it.

I highly recommend it.

Fuck you have a big ego and come off like a pretentious asshole when people don’t agree with you, such a fucking know it all but know nothing at the same time.

Mission accomplished, I guess?

I totally get what you're saying.

Georges was also something special and arguably the most well rounded guy in the sport then. He set a blueprint on utilizing sports science instead of bro science to prepare for a fight and traveling for different disciplines. Something special.

Garry is the type of guy to talk a lot of BS in his fight buildup, then drags out FIVE.... five consecutive decisions. That in and of itself is irritating / frustrating.

Turning action fighters into stinkers on repeat.

Another thread full of drooling meatheads complaining about a fighter going for the “hit and don’t get hit” strategy instead of sacrificing their braincells just so some morons get a shred more entertainment value.

I don't understand how the Prates fight was a stinker. There were loads of strikes landed and both guys landed stiff shots and there was some good drama at the end too.
