Ian Garry - The Dying Star

He is pretty technical but he gets clipped. It isn't the first fight where he got knocked down.

If you didn't enjoy some of Garrys combos in the middle rounds, like him or hate him, then this ain't the sport for you

He's very good, but not the most entertaining.

I was very impressed with the speed of his kicks, activity, and movement the first 4 rounds.

I find Belal more exciting. He's way more dominant. Garry presents himself as the second coming of Conor that's a KO artist.

Ian Garry is just not the guy we hoped he would be. He’s a boring fighter who looks for decision wins, he got badly out-struck by MVP , and had to wrestle for the entire fight to barely squeak out a win. He got dropped by a small Chinese guy 2 years back.

Ian Garry the ‘best striker in the ufc’, couldn’t even outstrike a 40 year old MVP. His only wins are against aging journeymen , and his performances are almost always worse than they should have been. He just won last night by decision, and ended the fight by nearly getting flatlined by ground and pound for a minute straight, slipping around the octagon like there’s banana peels on the mat.

This guys a dying star, if he ever was one, his wife cuckery mixed with his boring decision point fighting style, has flatlined his stardom.
He runs a lot and has no power in his hands, those 2 things equal shit fights 9/10. Combine that with his personality and it's hard to be a fan.

His bottom game seems very porous when it comes to defending GnP. He showed that vs Shavkat as well where he desperately locked Shavkat down but even then whenever Shavkat got loose he immediately started smashing vicious GnP. Not sure if I like how Garry reacts to it as well, he makes defensive maneuvers but he almost has a face of "oh shit I might get KOed"
He turns kinda feminine when on the bottom, makes sense if you were a girl.

Well maybe he should've reversed him and blasted him with GnP earlier
I'm sure he would have if he could have. Unfortunately Garry was way better at fighting than he was.
I wanted Garry to win too but if you want to be petty about it...
He did win. Clear cut decision. And hopefully that scare at the end was a lesson for him.
Here's a tip: Don't argue about dumb shit and assume what other viewers see. I highly recommend it!
I'll try, Sherbro! Good talk!

Only one loss in his career against Shavkat, alteady a main event, how is he a dying star ? He is elite. Give credits where credits is due.

He’s a point fighter and his wife has sex with his chef

So...who are those fighters who finish Prates, Shavkat, MVP, Neal regularly?

Prates did save some energy and that was logical thing to do. So Garry had some space and ofcourse he want to make it mma fight rather than trade punches whole time.

What is happening outside of the cage is not important. Even if it's true, his wife, is not good somehow, wrote a book about how to be a wag, that is just only beneficial to him, it had increased his popularity to his advantage.

Most men and women are unfaithful especially in the west, I don't see why when it is a celebrity it must be a big deal.

I literally do understand how to use it. I was using it correctly in this case.

You quite literally do not understand what you are watching. You think you do. You do not. Literally.

Your assessment of what happened in that fight has no connection to reality. It's creative writing that you want to pretend is expert analysis.

You're a weirdo edgy dork and nobody here takes your posts seriously. You are a low quality contributor.

Yeah, Garry is a skilled fighter for sure but ultimately, it’s hard to find point fighters that entertaining. His chin seems a little bit soft so hopefully he gets caught one of these days.

I am not a fan of his style at all. It's extremely safe and risk averse which results in a lot of point fighting tendencies. That said, He's clearly talented and good at what he does. I expect he will be around in the rankings for a while, so, better get used to him.

While* I won’t dispute what you said since it’s a good argument and* all, he has proven that he belongs at the top of the division.

At 28 years old and likely in his prime, he has plenty of time not only make some improvements to his very solid foundation, but also string together a few consecutive wins that would be necessary to get a shot at the title.

And I hope he does it; because it’s really fun to make fun of him for all his weird shit and antics in general.

He’s a weight bully who uses his size advantage over every opponent to stay on the outside and avoid the fight. Guarantee his wife leaves him a couple years after his fall from grace.
Lmao you just described an out fighter as if that’s cheating. That’s a fundamental type of striker

Doesn’t he fight at like 180.. for the billionth time tall doesn’t equal size

Trying to think of a gayer title for a thread but I can't. Well done
