Ian Garry is massive for 170, looking down on Shavkat

The height difference isn’t that drastic. They just have different skull proportions. Shavvy has jaw for days, and his forehead slopes down lower. It’s almost as if people from different parts of the world have different shaped skulls.

Shavkat is seen as a giant in the 170 division but Ian Garry is pretty huge himself for that weightclass, feel like that's not often brought up with him.

Wrong.

Ian Garry has a tiny "tennis ball" head ... which makes him look taller ... while Shavkat has the massive, primal dome of his ancestor Gengis Khan.

Shavkat appears FAR more massive and durable than the fragile Ian.

Ian, true to his submissive nature, gives a beta-feminine "hug" to Rahkmonov. who looks like a wolf about to slaughter the little lamb that is Ian "Machado" Garry.

I mean you could draw the line straight across from eyebrow to eyebrow instead of freezing exactly when Shavkat is moving and drawing from eyebrow to the bridge of Shavkat's nose.

What's most interesting is that Garry has such a tiny head that the tops of their heads are basically even, but Garry's jaw starts almost to Shavkat's mouth.
They are literally the same size and their eyebrows start at the same level, but Ian Machado has a very small face, which has been correlated in studies to polyamorous, martriarcal behavior. In other words, cuck.

It’s crazy … back in 2008 we had Serra and gsp who were 5’6 and 5’10 … the welterweight division changed a lot since

Definitely way bigger on average, but Rumble was a WW back then, and some outliers like Ben Saunders, and Lim a few years later. Otherwise someone like Fitch was considered a huge WW back then.

There can't be more than a half an inch difference in height here, which is hilarious since Ian Garry claims to be 6'3 and Shavkat 6'1.

Also Garry only rehydrates to 180 on fight night, so he's on the lighter side for welterweight. Shavkat says he walks around at 192-194 so he's rehydrating to at least 185 I'm guessing.
Ian is a dating app 6'3.

For those who may not be aware, Garry fought in California and CSAC published his official fight day weight at 180.5 lbs against Neal. That is indeed a lower-end of average weight gain for any division. On the same card we see Volk and Topuria ~15% gain.

IMO Ian Garry is a "big" welterweight as his height and frame is undeniably taller than average for the division. His reach is upper end for 170lbs at 74.5", but nothing to write home about. Garry is wise to not bulk too much muscle and likely stays in fight shape year round. Easy weight cuts don't just improve your fight night, they may extend your life and brain health.

Shavkat has a massive reach for the division at 77" and appears to have a really big frame for welterweight. No surprise he claims to walk 190+ even though he is minimally muscled. He's just a big human for the weight class. Of the two I could see him being the more successful fighter with a move to 185lbs.

He's tall but he's not heavy. He reportedly only cuts from around 180ish

even more important is the Shook Factor
If you notice, at 4.88 seconds in, Shav leans forward slightly, and Ian backs his head up!

Bet the house on Rakhmonov

We all knew that.

Garry is going to get on his bicycle and try to run away while jabbing in hopes of getting a decision.

Shavkat is going to walk him down.

TS is acting like this is an early UFC "David vs. Goliath" match, lol
