I don't see Khamzat vs Dricus being remotely close.

Usman > DDP
True on Burns, but Khamzat gave him way too much respect on the ground
This isn't even remotely close to true amigo.

A shopworn past-his-prime WW Usman is better than a prime MW DDP? Fuck out of here with that nonsense.

Maybe, and I mean maybe, a prime Usman might beat DDP, but the Kamaru that actually stepped into the octagon and took Chimaev the distance? DDP simply dogwalks that version of Usman easily. It's not often where a champ is almost universally written off and discredited as in this fight. And a champ (possibly) successfully defending his title as an underdog and being considered an upset? Not going to lie, that's exciting. Maybe Chimaev just looks scary and he counts on the beard hiding a weak chin.

What happens if Khamzat can't outmuscle DDP? If DDP's strength matches Chimaev's skills? I've never seen Chimaev in championship rounds and both times Chimaev saw the third round he went to decsions. I don't know why but I have this funny feeling once that cage door closes and it's not about the theatrics or posturing for the media anymore, DDP's going to be all business and Chimaev's going to blow his wad early on. Khamzat is a beast though and what he did to Whitaker was nothing short of holyfuckism.

And whoever has Chimaev's ear, can you please tell him to smarten the fuck up and completely forget WW exists? The MW-LHW playbook is the path forward for that man if he takes the strap tonight.

Stoked for this fight though. Only a few more hours.

Weird fight where I can totally see Khamzat doing what he does and bulldozing him but can just as easily see Dricus surviving and drowning him late. No dog in this fight personally, I’m just excited to see 2 of the best fight.

Maybe this is the fight when Khamzat will resort to round snatching with late takedowns after cautious stand-up if he realises DDP is too difficult to submit or energy-expensive to control too long. He kind of did that with Usman after 1st and his cardio held for 3 rounds to do that.

If far lesser fighters than DDP can make it a contest against Khamzhat, I'm sure the former will be fine.
I’m far from a Khamzat fanboy but it’s clear he is better suited at 185 than 170. Some guys do better moving up like Whittaker.

kamzat looked like he had all sorts of nervous energy during the ceremonial weigh in, while dricus just remained calm then laughed.

kamzat witll blow his wade and dricus will take over.

His failed girly one arm push was hilarious and sad. Like a little kid having a tantrum.

He better hope he stops ddp early because he didn't look so good in the Usman and Burns fights

I dunno who will win, but shit thread like this make me can't wait until tomorrow when Khamzat can fuck off for another year.

I don't think you're giving Usman enough credit, even one a few years out of his prime.

And I think Khamzat went all out for the first round finish and almost got it there.

I admit that if DDP makes it past 2, it will favor him more, but I don't see him surviving the onslaught.

He's had a great run, but let's be objective here - he hasn't exactly been 'dominant'. Amazing heart, athleticism, and Fight IQ, but I don't think that will be nearly enough here

Man I fucking hope not. Khazmat is your typical smotherer, so I can see it happening, but I hope he gets prideful.

Why's that? I kinda remember something about this. I ike he covid real bad?

Got Covid
Pulled out of 3 scheduled different dates of a fight with Leon Edwards
Then announced he is retiring from MMA because of COVID lung complications

Well didn't get the finish in round one, but it certainly wasn't remotely close :)
