Patience, babe.

@Amerikuracana
Thank you.

This means that when the next big recession hits (based on the exact same stuff I see now as in the couple years leading up to the last one) that we have more solid ground to stand on, and can recover a little faster. That's a very good thing.

Nice yellows. Anyway, Trump just delayed some tariffs on China and market is up.
The market isn't the actual economy. It is simply an indictator of how well short term greed is being played to.. The same short term greed that will cause constant cycles of growth and recession or even collapse.

A lot of the growth SE Asian manufacturing is due to Chinese companies themselves outsourcing labor because Chinese wages are growing.

The world of “globality,” where nothing is permanent and everything is in play, is no stranger to Western multinational executives or to economic historians.

The decisions Chinese factory bosses are being asked to make today are not dissimilar from the choices U.S. apparel and textile manufacturers had to make after World War II, when many prominent companies – with deep roots in New England and elsewhere in the Northeast – realized that economic necessity required them to relocate to the low-cost South. And even that was only temporary. The next move was overseas.

Homophobic Slurs.

<{MingNope}>

I am wondering if Trump is doing China a favor here and expects one in return. He basically just let up on them when there is a lot pressure in the country. Gave them at least one less thing to worry about for now.

also, i think the protesters are kind of turning the populace against them by shutting down the airport. not good to lose the people's support

also, lol at them covering their faces. like anybody could tell them apart

china doesn't fuck around. they will not put up with this forever. going to be deadly when shit pops off

pft, chinese protesters don't fuck around either. here in the states we've forgotten what a real protest looks like. we get some marches in DC or in some cities, they last a day and people go home - and nothing gets done.

in china, people don't protest unless it's something serious, and they mother fuckin protest. hong kong has been going at it for three months. and they aren't protesting a company, or something president xi said that offended them - they are fighting for their very freedoms and autonomy. this is literally a fight for democracy vs tyranny, freedom vs oppression, hope vs despair. if they lose, china will exert their dominance over a province that is one of the few in the southeast pacific region that is a capitalist democracy.

this is also why you don't elect fucking leaders like trump, morons too stupid to understand big picture foreign policy. china never would have attempted such a push on hong kong if clinton (or truthfully anyone) were in office right now. they'd be afraid of US retaliation and pressure. now, they know trump won't do anything, and they are just waiting for a more sympathetic moment for them to use physical force to declare martial law on the city. which is why chinese officials are ramping up the language using words like terrorism to portray the protesters and criminals rather than protesters fighting for their freedoms.

and if china succeeds here, expect other regions to push and possibly collapse too. without US influence, china will set a precedent that dictators (and even democracies with its own issues) can do what they like without consequence. we are seeing a resurgence in tension with india/pakistan and kashmir (very dangerous); we are seeing right wing extremism / strong men rising in europe and south america; we are seeing dictators in central asia and africa go uncontested with human rights violations; russia meddles with global elections with impunity; and the list just keeps going fucking on and on.

this is what happens also when the US populace becomes full of retards too arrogant to actually get an education and learn about the consequences of international politics. instead you turn to conspiracy theories and one liners to pretend you know what the fuck you are talking about. these consequences are very real and happen very quickly, and are very, very fucking difficult to reverse once the floodgates are open. you idiots walk around here with your conspiracy theories and your isolationism bullshit with no understanding of what you are talking about, and it is a fucking embarrassment.

now, we are seeing those consequences and you morons pass it off as nothing or put the blame on something else (like liberals). so all i have to say to all you morons that support trump and supported this world is i hope you are fucking happy - oh, and to also go fuck yoruselves. morons.

Yeah, China has ceased purchasing virtually any US agriculture products and the licensing issue with Huawei is too half-measure to really force China into doing anything, particularly when they anticipated the move over a year ago and stocked up on critical components.

Huawei really isn't even the corp that should be getting targeted, and the wrong US manufacturers are going to be taking one for the team on components they can actually source elsewhere (example: swapping Micron memory chips for SK Hynix, that's big time shitty gritty for them and their sales). Place export bans on the materials and machinery, not the actual chips you fucking goofs.

China's average wages have increased by around 155% from what they were a decade ago. Many US companies aren't really there for the 'slave labor' but rather market access and there's various sectors Beijing will only let foreign firms operate through joint ventures in which state-backed Chinese partners hold the majority stake.

The rhetoric of US manufacturing hallowing out was always kind of a myth, even at its lowest point circa 2010. It manufactures the most technologically advanced, R&D intensive products in the world. There's over 500,000 available manufacturing jerbs going unfilled right now. It's a skills shortage. :-/

Heavy machinery and microprocessors? High end manufacturing was never in danger of leaving the states. It's all those lower wage textiles and plastics workers that had to be outsourced.

Why are they having such difficulty filling those jobs? Could say, an automotive plant worker transition to a aeronautics work with training or does that take several years of education?

It's actually kind of a mystery, the required STEM skills for a lot these openings don't even necessarily mean a prereq four-year university degree (and mountain of student loan debt). Many of them can be attained with an AAS or even short-term certificate program. Down here where industries like aerospace and microeletronics are heavily anchored, the AzAMI works closely with and has a presence on schools and small colleges.

The precedent of what China did set labor rights back over a century.. So what now, we just wait until tger e are no third world place a to use slave labor? That will be over 100 years.. China's wages haven't gone up that much; they probably just want to stop choking themselves with unchecked pollution like they have been.

Saved for year end awards

It's only a matter of time before China goes to far and they are in a multi front civil war.
Hong kong protest
Muslim reeducation camps
Demonic social credit and monitoring system
Tibet suppression
Dissident suppression
Wait until it gets hard to feed people, and then it's over

You're underestimating the power of social and state brainwashing. Spent a good couple of hours picking a Chinese blokes mind (a decade in Aus) on this and he's of the opinion the chinese government is using its own agents within the protesters to intensify these demonstrations to give them an excuse to restore order.

It should be international economic pressure that forces change but the Chinese understand the power of the unseen dollar. The whole consept of their "face" is a precursor and symptom of corruption, add in communism, and hello slave state.
