Homegym MEGA Thread

There's a cop that moved in maybe 1 - 1/2 miles from my house. Young guy, been there 6 months or so. Always saw equipment on porch but never a person. Basic setup, squat rack/pull up bar , couple slam balls, TRX straps, jump rope, and a sand bag... we speak the same gym language. Have lately been seeing him putting work in between 3-5pm. It's the south, it's 100+ degrees with humidity. No shade, dead heat . Want to swing in and offer Sat & Sun open times, I'll leave garage doors up. But I've seen these movies. Come home from Lowes and the police gonna be smashing woman on my new bench. The end.

The barefoot shoes I got actually feel really good. Tonight I'll see how they are doing squats.

Have you heard of HomeGymHive? They are getting a fast growing collection of home gyms available to rent while you travel. You set your own prices, $15 a session, $50 a day, $20 an hour .... your call. They take care of all the legal, you just get paid.

I think I heard someone mention it here. Or maybe it was on a Garage Gym Reviews video. Interested in the legal aspect of it because inviting strangers into your garage/basement/shed to lift heavy things carries the potential for a lot of liability. As an insurance lawyer, I am shaking my head at the whole thing.

As someone that doesn't want to have to go to Planet Fitness while I'm traveling, I'm nodding politely.

They reached out and that was my 1st response. Said I wouldn't mind giving people a place to workout but not having someone come over just to get hurt. Have received a couple more responses with legal coverage and they have their own insurance coverage and waivers to sign. So I crawfished and said the wife told me no strangers in house :D
Which sucks for the like minded who would actually use and appreciate the availability when on the road.

Ya same setup. I can measure it next time I'm in the gym. You can probably calculate it pretty easy using the diameter of a plate and leave at least 1" clearance to the wall for your fingers.

I'd appreciate it if you could. I have calculated it a few times, I just want to be sure because I always end up overlooking some detail that slightly changes things.

You have the same Rogue rack? What reference point should I use for the measurement from the wall?

Exact same rack. If you could measure the distance from the back of the foot of the rack to the wall that would tell me what I need to know. I worry that if I get the kit I'd have to move the rack too far away from the wall and it would eat up too much of my floor space. Thanks
 
I think the uprights are inline with the cross member so you gain some space there.
 
Cheap option for anyone wanting an SSB. Guy on Reddit bought one and said it has the same specs as Titan's. Doesn't look like one of the bolt together cheap shits I tried a while back. Might be a good deal.

not bad. The picture showed it was completely flat but some of the others shows it has a camber. The flat one off Ebay is gahbage. And shoulder pads are too far apart unless you are an XXL man, it just falls off one side constantly.
