Homegym MEGA Thread

Physics question - might just be over thinking it. Can a wall mounted (or folding) rack withstand the weight of lever arms coming back down? I know the stability will hold them, I'm wondering about the constant drop force on the studs in walls. At most it would be 3/4 plates being let back down, not letting them go from highest point. Damn, they also have to the take whip of holding weight when it pushes out.

Currently have a 2nd Yoke (Valor Fitness 90") and it's only purpose is to hold a log and spotter arms for OHP. It's too tall to get out of the door. Want to get rid of that and replace it with a wall rack. Move the lever arms off of the main one. They never get used and will be always accessible when left in set up position.

Edit: Thanks mind reading devices. Have searched for a few folding racks, but never on YouTube. This 3 yr old vid pops up in feed. PRx cheap looking rack held 500 lb drop with no issue, 1 screw pulled out of wall. Anything with more beef should hold up fine.

Went ahead and ordered that cheap open trap bar from Walmart for literally no reason. Already have a shit quality regular trap bar that I never use. I don't do trap bar DLs. I already have farmer carry handles. Don't really have any place to put it. However, for $89 I won't have any problem just leaving it outside. Not my picture, but wanted to show what should be coming.

Looks similar to the Giant open trap. I think you'll like it. There's so many random things you can do with it; lunges, OHP, floor press, uneven carries (load 1 sleeve and walk), RDL, bent row, zercher squat, with wagon wheels - box DL, shrugs, weighted jumps. Get a garden hose hook and mount that puppy on the wall at eye level. You see it, miss it, use it & it's off the floor.

With that said, haven't touched my REP OTB but couple times over months and it was forcing self to use it.

I've been thinking about getting a trap bar.
Not too concerned with open vs closed but I'd like a nice diameter on the handles (both high and low).
I find a lot of trap bars have super skinny handles making them very unpleasant.

Weren't you looking for longer sleeves? 400+ lb

Cheap ass trap bar came in today and even though I don't need it I don't regret buying it. A few months ago it looks like people were receiving one with short sleeves, but I guess they worked that out. Sleeves are 16" long and it actually looks pretty good.

Knurling is non existent and the handles are kinda thin. 24" between the handles is something I like about the bar. It does tip to the side when loading plates, but I really don't see that as much of a problem. I wanted the Rep trap bar, but I won't feel as bad when this $90 bar is sitting around unused.

I have a Rouge trap bar. It was the first piece of home gym equipment I ever bought (along with bumpers). It's a beefy sumbitch and the handles feel good. Pricey obviously, because Rogue. That was back in like 2018 that I got it, so they're probably on another generation by now and this was before the damn kids and their open nonsense. I like to be closed in all secure like!

I was looking at their Nordic Mini because the price on it was good. This looks pretty nice. @Fahcough I think the Coop video was on the same type of thing made by a different company. It was about $1000 so this one kicks the shit out of that price.
Good looking out. Hellova day, mind is scattered lol. Couldn't remember if recently saw that or was make believe thoughts.
Comments were probably people capping on him for being a sellout shill. Pretending like its a budget piece for great price.

I wasn't sure if Coop did a video on it or not. And yeah, I get ads for that and the Isolator daily. I like how this folds up to such a small footprint. I really just need to marry a doctor who can buy me all the pretty things I deserve.

Coop did this combo Nordic/back extension for $1,000

He also has a video on a Freak Athlete Nordic Mini product that's just a Nordic floor piece. It's not the other stuff.
