Heat diner scene. Which two actors today could come closest to achieving the hype of De Niro/Pacino

Daniel Day Lewis, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Gary Oldman.

Either two of these three amazing actors could.
It wouldnt be the same, its just the best we could get with what we have.

Denzel Washington is really the only guy who has the same amount of critical respect, peer respect and audience respect/appeal as DeNiro and Pacino in their prime. And he's considered a genuine badass in sort of the same way as they were.

DiCaprio is close in those categories, but I don't think he's considered a legit badass. Just a very good actor.

I think the combo of Denzel and Daniel Day-lewis would probably do it. DDL gets way more hype from critics and a limited set of fanboys than he does from general audiences, but people still know DDL is supposed to be this brilliant actor, even if they don't really check most of his movies. DDL is still known as the guy with 3 oscars.

When you combine all the elements, a DDL and Denzel head to head would probably come closest to a DeNiro/Pacino confrontation in their prime. It might even surpass it, when you consider that they have 5 Oscars and 14 Oscar nominations between them.

Heat diner scene. Which two actors today could come closest to achieving the hype that De Niro and Pacino received in 1995?

In 95 the diner scene between De Niro and Pacino was a big deal since at that point they never shared a scene together. If Heat came out today, which two actors could come closest to achieving that hype/reaction?

It's not only because they were God-tier actors, but because they were both stars in the same epic movie before...yet never shared a scene.

They keep looking to the sides as if they’re reading cue cards on an SNL skit!

Leo and Pitt together in aTarantino film has a lot of people intrigued too. Both good actors that have had similar career trajectory and status.

Denzel and Samuel L would be awesome as fuck too in the right setting.

I'm not from the US so i really have no idea,

but is that Tarantino movie with Brad and Leo getting much hype and interest from people there?

I think Pitt isn't rated as highly as an actor as DiCaprio. Pitt's rated, but he can be kind of inconsistent and maybe he's a bit better in character roles than as a leading man.

I did not disagree whith this which is why I said similar. But no, trey aren’t exactly the same either. It’s an interesting matchup tho.

Honestly, not that I’ve seen. I think it’ll pick up more steam when it’s closer to being released.
