International Hamas launches surprise attack on Israel; Israel has declared a state of war Megathread

I don't get it. How in the world is that sort of atrocities defended on this forum ?

Don't know and don't care weirdo. No one cares or remembers that you posted something on your 36th birthday. Like why is that relevant? LMAO

LMAO. Here, let me repeat what I said in my previous post so you don't skip over it this time.

2nd repost:

Bro get a fucking grip. That poster hasn't posted in months.

And you just completely skipped over the post that came before it.

Pejorative context, as in "Zionazi?"

I called them out on it:

A ban was imposed on the slur, and then this idiot whined about it a month later:

To skirt around this ban, this anti-Semitic piece of shit tried to get clever with us with a "typo."

But I saw through his bullshit:

So go ahead. Say it. But first, let me just remind everyone here that the use of the slur "Zionazi" is a form of Holocaust trivialization.

You're a grade-A cocksucker of the highest order. The use of the terms "Zionazi" and "Zionistss" is an example of "using the word in a pejorative context."

There's nothing wrong with using the word in a pejorative context. That's the whole point - a lot of people are against the establishment of an ethnostate when it comes along with displacing hundreds of thousands to millions of indigenous people.

But there's nothing wrong with it, according to you.

Yeah, I'll never forget this. Nor that one time you decided it'd be cute to post a few dog whistle comments in that NYC Hasidic Synagogue Tunnel thread just to pile on the rampant anti-Semitism that already existed in thread?

What an odd topic to introduce especially after not being able to tell the difference between Orthodox and Ultra-Orthodox.

When did Biden ever tried to rein israel ? He gave them weapons non stop and defended them at the UN and in press conferences without fail. He talked about a red line in Rafah that was imaginary and that was it. Please give me clear and concrete examples. I will truly change my mind if you show me him putting his foot down firmly against israel

He banned 2,000 lb bombs and sanctioned extremist settlers. He was a better option than Trump or Jill Stein…Let’s not be coy about it.

Trump and Netanyahu have had spats before—especially when Netanyahu didn’t support his January 6th drama. Now that Edan Alexander is out, I don’t think Trump has any incentive or reason to clash with Netanyahu.

Nobody wins here—especially not the Palestinians.

A new study reveals that between October 7 and November 17, 2023, the Israeli military air-dropped nearly 600 highly destructive 2000 lb bombs.

Exclusive: US has sent Israel thousands of 2,000-pound bombs since Oct. 7

June 30, 2024

WASHINGTON, June 28 (Reuters) - The Biden administration has sent to Israel large numbers of munitions, including more than 10,000 highly destructive 2,000-pound bombs and thousands of Hellfire missiles, since the start of the war in Gaza, said two U.S. officials briefed on an updated list of weapons shipments.
Between the war's start last October and recent days, the United States has transferred at least 14,000 of the MK-84 2,000-pound bombs, 6,500 500-pound bombs, 3,000 Hellfire precision-guided air-to-ground missiles, 1,000 bunker-buster bombs, 2,600 air-dropped small-diameter bombs, and other munitions, according to the officials, who were not authorized to speak publicly.

The United States has announced the approval of the sale of more than $7.4bn in bombs, missiles and related equipment to Israel, which has used American-made weapons to devastating effect during the war in Gaza.

The state department has signed off on the sale of $6.75bn in bombs, guidance kits and fuses, in addition to $660m in Hellfire missiles, according to the US Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA).

I agree with @Anewt. Would Biden/Harris been slightly better than Trump re: Isreal? Maybe, but the difference would be so slight it would be imperceptible to the naked eye.

Supporting Isreal is an American past time, a religion of its own, in some ways. Joe called himself the Z word, he sent shit tons of weapons and did very little in attempt to restrain Bibi.

If Isreal feels it needs to ethnically cleanse the strip, surely they can do so with their own money and weapons.

They are "fighting" goat herders using "rocket launchers" made from water pipes. Surely they can handle that situation themselves without big daddy USA throwing constant aid and weapons at them.

Are they not an advanced military? Nuclear powered military? Latest fighter jets and missile defense systems? Yet the USA has to fund and arm them to "fight" the goat herders? Absolutely ridiculous.

They're different words, though. Zionist is a term for Isrealis who refuse a two state solution, and just want to take over. But not every Israeli is a Zionist. Obviously in this context, it's typically used as a goto anti-semetic term.

There's a lot of nuance in almost every discussion (geopolitics, religion, regional partisanship, trans/lgbt/etc) that people can't seem to grasp, so it becomes a black or white/us vs them situation. It's sad that we literally have the world at our fingertips, but only use it to hate others.
That is not what the word means.

Except for right of return to their homes. That's only for every Jewish people in the entire world.
That has nothing to do with the rights of citizens in Israel. Again, you avoid the uncomfortable truths. Because you have one agenda. You’re cool with millions and millions under sharia law. You don’t care about millions of refugees in the region. You don’t care about the Jews who were driven from their homes. The reason Israel’s right to exist is so singularly unique and questionable is their laws around immigration to Israel. Not the laws in Israel. Not the freedoms. Not the diversity.

You are just a bad faith actor. But it’s clear to see at least.

well.. i mean its basically winning a 1 legged running race in that region though =) .. i

Gazas gone . Hamas is done. Itll be awhile to tdy up. They destoyed any hope of a 2state oct 7.. that dreams gone forever. Question is whether or not the people can have a good life from onwards isnt it ?

I believe the wb has a higher population than gaza... they have by and large toed the line...

Any hope of them being able to be their own state in your opinion?

or netanyu going to milk this for another year ?
The question has always been about whether they can have a better life. I’m glad you’re saying that. Most people here who claim to be on their side really don’t give a shit about them. They just want to win. They’d rather protracted armed resistance than any outcome that doesn’t result in a win.

Can the West Bank become an independent state in the near term? That’s not happening for many reasons. Not just Israel.

The people, and their supporters have to have realistic goals. I’ve not seen anyone pushing for an independent nation that only includes the WB. And pledges peace and acceptance and strongly denounces terror. Instead of continuing to fund “martyrs”.

I hope they can rally behind realistic goals and I hope peace can be negotiated around those goals. I really do.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has approved the immediate resumption of humanitarian aid into Gaza during a security cabinet meeting earlier this evening.

In a statement confirming the decision, the Prime Minister’s Office says that it is being done “at the recommendation of the IDF and due to the operational need to enable the expansion of intense fighting to defeat Hamas.”

He says Israel “will allow the entry of a basic quantity of food for the population in order to prevent the development of a hunger crisis in the Gaza Strip,” as such a crisis “would endanger the continued operation to defeat Hamas.”

“Israel will act to deny Hamas the ability to seize control of the distribution of humanitarian aid in order to ensure that the aid does not reach Hamas terrorists,” he concludes.

The move comes amid increasing international pressure for Israel to end its months-long blockade on aid deliveries to the Gaza Strip and thus prevent a deepening humanitarian crisis.

Israel has thus far refused to do so, saying Hamas has been stealing the aid to benefit its own members, and that it won’t resume deliveries until a new mechanism has been put in place to circumvent Hamas

However, according to the Walla news site, the resumed transfer of aid will be facilitated through several international organizations, including the UN World Food Programme and the World Central Kitchen, until the new US and Israel-backed mechanism begins operating later this month.

The devil is in the details. He allowed 500 lb bombs but banned shipments of 2,000 lb ones.

I'll grant you that both sides are pro-Israel. Most people operate in a vacuum. There really isn’t an easy way to defeat Islamic fundamentalists—we tried in Afghanistan for 20 years, and it didn’t work. Israel doesn’t have the luxury of peeling off the band-aid; they live shoulder to shoulder with them. We can agree Israel should let humanitarian relief in and shouldn’t keep implanting settlements in the West Bank but even without those variables in Gaza, Hamas rose to power. So what do we do?

Marshall Plan didn’t work on Islamic Fundamentalists even in Iraq or Afghanistan. It seems even grimer here…

The details my friend are he sent them 14 000 . 2000lbs bombs during the conflict...

He didnt ban them... he stopped one shipment of 1800 bombs . after already providing 14 000........

Praising him for stopping one shipment when providing almost 10 x the amount seems really odd to me.

Satellite imagery from those early days of the war reveals more than 500 impact craters over 12 meters (40 feet) in diameter, consistent with those left behind by 2,000-pound bombs.

Even without the 1800 just released. They literally have about 13 000 2000lbs bombs in stock. From biden alone. Who knows how many they may have owned prior..

Im going to shake my head when israel uses one again and people try pin it on trump heh. Undoubtedly will happen.

First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.

Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

Praise is doing a lot of heavy lifting here. I pretty much reposted what you said verbatim. The truth is, you and I both think the damage is too great. The issue is that Islamic fundamentalists like Hamas would rather keep the flames burning than release the hostages and let Abbas take over.

Even recently for the ceasefire proposals, they were insisting on maintaining leadership positions.

Egypt could offer to take in civilians during a war too and send them back afterwards to make things easier…
