@BFoe @shockaholic12 here's a good article discussing the historical view of the 2A as it relates to individual rights. Mentions views on either side of the discussion.

I didn't want to muddy the other threads anymore with this type of discussion . . .

Colorado Democrats introduce multiple gun restriction bills (msn.com)

The Democratic lawmakers say the bills will strengthen Colorado’s “red flag law,” raise the minimum age to purchase firearms from 18 to 21, institute a three-day waiting period, and remove legal protections for firearm sellers and manufacturers.

Not sure if there's more hidden beneath the surface level article that I'm unaware of, but except for the seller and manufacturer protections being removed, this doesn't look too bad. There's no going after currently legally owned guns like the Illinois gun grabbers did.

The 18 to 21 change doesn't overly bother me. It's werid you can buy an AR-15 at 18 but couldn't get a .38 handgun until 21. A better de-lineator would be semi-auto guns at 21 and bolt/pump action at 18 imo. A person should be able to get an exception for the 3 day wait if, for example, they were attacked or get a restraining order against someone. Seller's and Manufacturer's shouldn't be responsible for intentional deeds done with their guns. Only if there's like a malfunction.

Speaking of Colorado . . . I'm sure this is why someone introduced some of those new bills.

Sandy and Lonnie Phillips, who lost their daughter Jessica Ghawi in the horrible attack, said they were forced to file bankruptcy after being left on the hook for the legal fees associated with the case backed by Brady United Against Gun Violence. They claimed the group did not fully communicate the risk that they would be forced to pay for the defendants’ lawyers if they lost the longshot case. After the judge ruled against them, calling the case to hold ammo dealers liable for the shooting “meritless” at one point, the couple was ordered to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars from their own pocket.

That sucks that the parents were used by that advocacy group. I hope they get slammed for it.

Advocate Lawyers shouldn’t leave their test case plaintiffs out to dry with their long shot case attempts. Hope they get a different lawyer group to sue the Brady group.

So what's stopping other states from raising the voting age to 21? lol at gun controlls always ignoring unintended consequences.

Old enough to vote, get married, and buy a house, but not old enough to own a gun. <BC1>
