Law Gun and Gun Control News/Discussion

I don't care who has a gun as long as its a legal one. I also don't care how many they have. I don't support an "assault weapons " or mag ban. I see people regularly walk into where I work or on the street with a gun openly on their hip, it's no big deal.

I am fine with that. Probably getting too philosophical on you. As you were.

I'm not sure what your point here is.
Idaho has Constitutional carry. Idaho has more guns than any State other than Alaska and Arkansas. Idaho is safer than where you live.

LoL
On the flip-side Mississippi and Louisiana are the two states with the highest murder rate and they both allow open carry without a permit. The better approach is to look at difference within states before and after they pass such laws as comparing between states without accounting for confounding variables can give us a murky, contradictory picture as the examples of Idaho, Mississippi, and Louisiana show. To that end there are some studies which suggest more permissive gun laws are correlated with increased violent crime and murder.

Then you have to also look where in the state the murder rate went up. Then also you have to look at if it was legal for the person to have the gun.

Gavin should worry more about California than what is going on in florida. Bum ass guy who got caught red handed during Covid lockdowns. POS hypocrite.

Because it matters when you want to take guns from legal owners but don't want to punish criminals. That's what he wants.
I don't think it matters in this context since the point is that the law itself is correlated with a higher homicide rate within one state when looking at the data before and after the law's implementation, or at least some studies suggest it might.

It might and it could also been influenced by other factors such as a general rise in crime due to other things.

It matters because he is using it to try and take guns from law abiding citizens not punishing the criminals. He's soft on criminals but wants to take the ability to defend themselves from law abiding citizens.

Look where California is.

I don't think it matters in the context of analyzing the effects of these open carry laws unless you could show that there was another variable confounding the results.
23% decrease in crime in places with conceal/open carry. He’s being intentionally deceptive and ignoring the most recent empirical statistics provided by the US government.
Interesting stat, got a source I could read?

So show where open carry is directly the cause of increasing murder.

That's impossible to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt but like I said there some studies which suggest that over time the murder and violent crime rate ticks up after these laws are passed. I already linked two though to be fair the full studies are behind a paywall and only the abstracts are available.

And I'm saying there are possibilities that are not taken into account because the people doing the study want it to be guns.

What is he wrong about?

He's implying that folks won't undergo a background check when buying a gun because of "permit less" carry. He's also implying that criminals won't carry if whatever he wants to implement is put in place. It's a pathetic attempt to push the same stupid gun control narrative.

Criminals don't honor permit or purchase requirements . . . you know this . . .

You don't have any links so I can try to read through them myself?
