Quit your chronic editing. That's Hulkamania's disease.

Are you right handed? Do you use your mouse with your right hand? I've long suspected that 40 hours a week spent at a computer is slowly fucking me up. I have right wrist flexability issues too. As far as the 150-170lbs DL addition....I call Brahma Feces.

Actually, it's possible. I added 175 to my deadlift max the first time I deadlifted.

>_>
<_<

Anyway, Willie, what's so poor about the GHRs?

Ahhhhh... good point. That could certainly play a part in this as I am, indeed, right-handed.

So what do you think? Closer to 250 extra? That would give me an even 770. Sounds reasonable now that you mention it.

My gym doesn't have a glute-ham raise machine, so it's the type where you just kneel and secure your heals under something rigid. Thus, the "poor man's" modifier.

Forgive my ignorance, but what do you mean by "clean grip"? blah i hate being nubian, but oh well. I ask because front squats make my right wrist feel like it's been through hell as well, even though I am left handed... (wait mental note, i did have a botched surgery a few years back on my right wrist...hmm)

Clean grip is the end result of a power clean. Ideally, the bar is resting in place across the fronts of your shoulders and your hands are there only to keep the bar from falling. Elbows should be pointed forward and up (parallel w/ floor). My clean grip, however, is not so picture-perfect. I do a lot more holding of the bar w/ my hands, rather than letting it rest where it's supposed to, this due to flexibility issues.

From the sounds of it, this is how you do them, too, but there is a "bodybuilder" variation of front squats in which the bar rests across the front and you cross your arms and grip it with palms down. Thus, I specified as "clean grip".

Finishing a power clean correctly takes practice. You want the bar to land above your collar bone and across your shoulders. It shoulc almost be choking you. You don't have to use all your fingers to steady the bar, I just use my index and middle. Try to resist the urge to finish with all the weight on your hands. I'd search google or youtube for some examples before you start feeding your ego with more weight....There's a reason I'm doing the program I'm doing. And that reason is ego + ignorance = pain.

Got ya, i threw more weight on my front squats this week, and i can definately feel it with my right wrist, and my lower back. I think I'll go back lighter till i get a good feel for the right form, i've waited this long in my life to start really lifting, i may as well take it slow and do it right...

P.S. on the BOR is my torso / chest suppost to be parallel with the ground, as in bent over at a 90 degree angle (knees slightly bent)? I'm worried i am still standing up to straight and am going to fubar my back with a vengance.

If you're going really light, such that there is zero cheating, then you can approach 90 degrees.

For example...

However, cheating w/ BOR's is not frowned upon as it is with many other exercises. Obviously, you don't want to completely jerk the weight up, but you can use a bit of momentum to help yourself handle heavier weights. With that in mind, try using about a 30-45 degree angle w/ the floor. Start light and experiment. As w/ related exercises, keep a tight arch in your lower back. When you round, you open yourself up to injury.

Regarding the video, that's too low for me. I'm sure I'm about 22.25 or so. I guess I should really put up a video camera to critique my form on my lifts. Of course it depends how much and what rep I'm on.

I agree. I hardly ever go that low. I was moreso pointing out how strict your form should be if you do decide to go that low. Personally, I think you have to find that happy medium between decent form and heavy-ass weight.

Sounds better than my lunch thats for sure, as a matter of fact it actually sounds pretty tasty, but coffeex3?!? Holy shit man, I hope you don't try and use caffine as a stim preWO.

Glad to hear everything is going okay though, seems your day is jammed packed. I'm in the same perdicament with MA, pay 85$ a month and i usually only get to go once a week. Too bad for me i still ahve a year left on my contract.

Actually, I lied. I only had one cup during the meeting, but I did have two during the morning leading up to it. They're smallish cups, though. I always drink coffee preworkout. Caffeine is one of the most widely used stimulants in athletics. Why don't you like it preworkout? I couldn't go without it.

I ought to drink a cup of joe before heading out. I always find myself yawning when I walk into the weight room.

Jk doesn't like coffee and is therefore a homogheysectual.
