Going Rogue

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention the theory behind everything, which you may very well know already.

Whey is fast digesting: 30 minutes or so

Casein is slow digesting: 6-7 hours... it gels up in your stomach and releases over time, which is why it's great to use before bed. It keeps your body anabolic overnight.

whey: 30 minutes
egg: 1.5-3 hours
meat: 4 hours
casein: 6-7 hours

Fatty, we moved back to KY for the summer. Teh wife got a job clerking for a judge starting next June. (She graduates in April) We'll be back in KY in June. Fucking-A. I think I'll go back to UK to get me some legal learning.

Utah is the suck.

Is KY your homeland? I never would have thought Utah was teh suck. Isn't there great backpacking/hiking/mountain biking/snowboarding there?

I can't see anyone's av. I disabled that shit. I prefer to judge people based on their wit/lack of, rather than a pic. It really fucks me up when people get new belts though. When fatty and bort go brown, I won't recognize them for atleast a week.

Why, then, do you have an avatar? Wouldn't you prefer that I judged you solely on your tales of exploding porta-potties?

Bacon lives in california, nothing can be worse than L. gAy.

I interned in Long Beach for a summer. I loved the area, but the people were arrogant as all hell.

Long Beach is nice. The Pike kicks ass. But I agree with Fatty, (captain fucking protien), it's the people I can't stand. But to be fair, that's a california thing, not a LBC thing.

For anyone who's never been to ze fashaland, you'll be aw struck the first time you set sights on the German country side. There ain't a cleaner country on this planet.

I used to use the black screen option and I used to be able to see all the avs.....but since I post so much from work, the white screen, sans avs is a bit more incognito...which is foreigner for "real sneaky like". The white screen option looks A LOT like a database that I update.

I've only been to Munich, but even that was immaculate for a big city.

Your sly avless white screen technique is pure genius for working hours.

Thank you very much for this long and comprehensive answer.
So I guess I will make a postworkout shake consisting of the following:

- whey hydroslate (20g)
- dextrose (40g)
- Creatin ethyl esther (3g)

Everything easy to digest (should cause no bowel problems).
Regarding the casein and stuff. Maybe I will add this some day. So far I will stick to my lowfat quark.

Anything wrong with that idea?
Why do you call Germany "the fatherland"?

Casein does not mean high fat. All The Whey's and True Protein's Milk Protein Isolates, for instance, are 100% fat free and they're 80% casein.

As or the post-workout shake, that looks good. Personally, I have a major sugar crash about 60-90 minutes after I drink mine if I don't eat, so make sure you have food handy (about 2/3 carbs, 1/3 protein) to curb any sort of crash after your workout.

I refer to Germany as the fatherland because my ancestory is primarily German. My dad's father came over from Remscheid.

:) The storng guys come from here.
I didnt think that casein has fat. I just eat 500g of quark (60g of slow digesting protein) mixed with peanut butter, milk and oats as a regular meal. And as supplements are supplements and there isnt any natural food as good as the whey and stuff postworkout I will add this there. Apart from that I try to stick to natural food. I dont like to be dependent on anything. I know thats funny to hear from a guy who has to take a dozen of medics to get over the day. But well.... I try to keep it to a minimum.

BTW, Fatty, you mentioned before that you play soccer. Which position do you play? I think, with your stats, you'd make either a great centreback or a Viduka-esque target forward.

Or goalkeeper - just stands there and scares the ball away :D

Oh, sorry. I had no idea what quark was. I didn't even know it was food... I read it more as "So far I will stick with my lowfat style?" I was trying to take it from context since it was void from my vocabulary. At any rate, I just looked it up and that looks perfect. Properties similar to cottage cheese, perhaps?

You got it right on the second one -- I'm a striker. I'm actually pretty damn fast, so it's always fun playing against a new team. They expect this big lumbering guy, then I get my first through-ball and blow by everyone. Defenses typically adjust after that, usually to no avail. Ahhh, the beauty of playing over-30 soccer.

Nutritionvalue of quark is almost exactlly like cottage cheese. But it has a neutral taste.
Im under the impression that fishoilcapsules cause diarrhea for me (always hard to judge for me). Is this a common problem?

graedy, I think the following may be of interest to you. I believe diarrhea is a possible side effect of fish oil, but only in about 10% of users.

http://www.oilofpisces.com/inflammatoryboweldisease.html

Fish oils benefit patients with ulcerative colitis

NEW YORK, NY. Researchers at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine report that fish oil supplementation is highly effective in alleviating ulcerative colitis. Their small pilot study involved 10 patients with mild to moderate ulcerative colitis who had not been helped by conventional medical therapy. The patients were given 15 capsules of fish oil daily containing a total of 2.7 grams of eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and 1.8 grams of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). The capsules were taken in 3 divided doses for an 8-week period. All patients underwent rigid sigmoidoscopy at entry to the study, at 4 weeks, and at the completion of the study. They also kept a daily log of the number of bowel movements, stool consistency, and any side effects. At the end of the 8 weeks 7 out of the 10 patients showed marked to moderate improvement and 4 out of 5 patients on prednisone were able to reduce their daily dose by 20 to 66%.

The researchers speculate that the EPA in the fish oil interferes with the synthesis of the highly inflammatory leukotriene B4 in the lining of the colon and that this effect accounts for the improvement. They recommend a large, randomized, placebo-controlled, double-blind trial to confirm the beneficial effects of fish oil supplementation in ulcerative colitis patients.

I know those studies and thats one of the reason I always get back to taking fishoil capsules. But Im always under the impression that it causes diarrhea for me. But its always hard to judge as I always have more or less diarrhea because of the UC.
At the moment the diarrhea is pretty strong. So I will keep on taking fishoilcapsules for one more week or so. If it gets better although I take the capsules I can take them and benefit form the positive effects. Because when I do it the other way arround and get of them now and it gets a bit better then I dont know if it really was because I went of the capsules.

325 x 4

Barbell Hack Squats

225 x 4
225 x 5
225 x 4

This was the first time I’ve done barbell hack squats and they felt weird. I kept the bar tight to my body and as soon as it reached the backs of my knees, the barbell would hit and kind of get stuck and I’d have to change the path of my pull. What am I doing wrong or is this normal?

Fatty,

Are they paying you to spread the protein gospel? It looks as if Pat Robertson has hijacked your keyboard for a few posts there.

There is another substance that gels up in your stomache and slowly digests after about 7 hours...but I won't introduce you to that until you win my heart.

Oddly enough for me fatty, I ahve the exact opposite trouble with hack squats. It seems I can bring it up fine, but when i go back down, the path of the bar always seems to end up hitting my ankles, forcing me to alter the path back down slightly to avoid hitting my ankles. I dunno man, it might just be lack of form?

I just threw up in my mouth.
