Paddy has terrible striking defense and was getting tagged by Jared Gordon, he’s also a brawler and brawling with Iron Mike is a recipe for disaster, unless you’re an elite striker like Poirier or Gaethje.

Chandler is a tough night out for every lightweight there has ever been. He finds a degree of success in every fight, I just don’t see Paddy taking those bombs (which he will)

Even though JG is old, I still believe he's a top opponent and will deliver a good fight.

That's your sample size for who has had success against Gaethje in a grappling heavy gameplan.

He’s not shooting for the laces and scrambles up exceptionally well

Plus we know he feasts on lead-legs and exposed chins

Really hoping Justin has another good fight or two in his system

It's really a good stylistic matchup for him. Paddy has improved a ton, but his striking is still pretty lackluster for a highly ranked guy. And while his ground game is very good, he's not an elite wrestler that will be able to easily take Justin down.

A lot of you are ready to hear that Paddy is a bad matchup for Gaethje.

Gaethje has always had problems with people pressuring him and putting him on his back foot. If you try and make things technical he always ends up just walking them down, picking his shots, when he's given space. You gotta be on him and make him reacting to you, gassing down and panicking from the pressure. Paddy will do that, and he's way, way, way better on the ground than Justin where the fight will probably end up at some point.

It's going to look like the Chandler fight... except Justin actually will retire after being ran over by Paddy.
