Was going to post this. Yeah making his MMA debut 12 days later pretty much guarantees his CJI 2 match will be a work because he can't risk actually going hard and getting injured. Jones will probably carry him, let him get some threatening positions then end it with a controversial finish. Steveson then looks like a legit threat and goes into his MMA match with fresh hype.

fact he tried to do everything else and failed before landing on mma takes some of the hype away for me, doesnt mean he cant or wont be good but it wasnt what he really wanted to do.

So we'll see, he's big and athletic and can wrestle but can he lean striking, can he take a shot. He's got a big name and who knows how long he'll want to actually fight on regionals. You would think he gets 5 fights in next year and does contender series or just gets signed but PFL could be looking at him so UFC if they want him could end up signing him much sooner before he's really ready.

I think the rape and the negative attention he got in WWE will already be enough to lower the ceiling on any hype he could have drastically.

Judging by how every other foray into sports and entertainment went for him, there's absolutely zero chance he'd commit to training that long without fighting along the way.

No way he does that. He's gonna want 6 figures and a contract with UFC or PFL within 3 fights. If you're PFL you probably offer him 100-200k right away to come learn on the job over there. Get big signing, gold medalist who they can build up, maybe do a tournament at some point.

Dont know what his goals are, is it UFC, is ti just I need to get paid as fast as possible. But two or three fights max and he's gonna want one of big orgs to sign him whether he's ready for it or not.
