The Immortal keepin it real on Gable

Yup.
I've said it before somewhere that this alone differentiates him from Brock.
He doesn't seem to stand and bang. Provided that he fought a can but who is Gable? Also a can standing up you could say.
So really props to him.
Not to mention the vertical jumpining ability. He will squash fools heads ala Mario.
Book him vs a Goomba next IMO

I could see it. Brock was in a similar position and didn't get into trouble until he got caught in a leg lock by Mir, who is levels above all the BJJ guys at HW today. There's so many positions and nuances to mma that Gable doesn't know, but if he's good enough to confidently take anyone down, then good at keeping the right positions to avoid submissions. Also assuming he can finish with GNP or cardio for 5 rounds if that fails. Then he could do it.

Brock went from being leglocked by Mir in 2008, to keeping him on the ground and finishing him there in 2009. We've never seen Aspinall fight someone like Almeida yet, even Blaydes never got to shoot takedowns. Never seen Aspinall get controlled and pull a sub off his back like Mir, hell he could have worse cardio than Gable. There's lots of unknowns with even the champ.

I say it's possible. UFC will never book him directly like that so it's fine won't happen. But I could see him getting Volkov or Lewis or someone, then titleshot afterwards and winning. The division isn't even big enough to test him really. Maybe Almeida, but even he's kind of retarded with fight IQ.

It's much easier to look immortal in teh kiddie pool.

It "has potential" to transfer over to top competition, but we gotta see his reaction to taking some big strikes from a top of teh food chain fighter before we'll know for sure.

I thought the same thing about Nickal.
On paper, Gable is the uncrowned king of the HW division.

But at this point, I need to see him fight someone who isn't doing this as a hobby.
