Why would Wilder take such a pay cut? That makes no sense.
Free publicity for everyone = more money for him. Lots of people are talking about both fighters and the promotion right now. If it 99 percent doesn't happen, they still get hits and publicity.

Believe it when they're in the cage, being introduced.

It likely is rubbish. Wilder is on a collision with Aj and imo he beats Aj. After that he will be next to fight for the Undisputed title in boxing

Only if he loses is this possible. It's much more likely that he boxes Francis under traditional boxing rules

Is Fury Usyk confirmed? Saw this press conference a few days ago..

I guess Fury figured after being humiliated by Ngannou he has nothing to lose and wants people to forget about that fight.

Just chop down super skinny chicken legs of Wilder and it's all over.

Yeah it's on
He has little choice but to take the fight

The humiliation by Ngannou might actually work in Fury's favour

He will be training harder than ever and he will realise he isn't as good as he really thinks

Honestly I'm not sure who I think will win. If you just judge the Ngannou fight, then usyk is a big favourite. But then again, Usyk despite all his experience, skills, speed etc, hasn't got Francis strength to fight in the clinch or the power to scare Fury

I hate to say this, but I think Fury will win an ugly fight. Either that or Usyk really puts in a top career performance and boxes him silly. The early rounds will tell. If Fury can't get close to use his extra size to wear him down? He is done for, as Fury's movement is gone. He cannot go on the backfoot now and use his reach. His legs have gone

It's seriously an interesting match

As backwards as this sounds

Ngannous advantage was in boxing, where he has no pressure to win rounds.

Which is why he looked so good against Fury. In a cage this obscure but impactful advantage is no longer in play
What? Francis “looked so good” because Fury didn’t train, didn’t prepare and put almost no effort in during the match.

One does 4 ounce Muay Thai. Id guess mixed rules here would be 4oz boxing and maybe extended clinching? I can’t imagine it’d be all the way to kicks and prolonged grappling.

4 ounce boxing between these two monsters would be fun

yeah isn't the saudi card next month just a setup for joshua/wilder in the coming months? this mixed rules stuff wounds like wishful thinking and of course shertards are going for it.

Wilders legs are too skinny for him to ever be successful In Mma much less against a guy like frank. One kick. One. Wilder will never be able to throw in mma like he can in the ring. He obviously stands a punches chance but I can't see him beating any meaningful person with those legs.

Man… props to Deontay for taking this fight with mixed rules.

Even if it’s simply wearing 4oz gloves, that’s still more than any other boxer has been willing to do in modern times.

I guess it is possible, but personally I think Wilder is flirting with the idea, just in case the Aj fight doesn't get made

There is still way more chance Francis boxes Wilder, then MAYBE something like that could happen after? But it would take a lot of money

I dont give a rats ass boxing is boring as fuck. Get this shit off my forum
MMA is a sports for guys who couldn't cut in it boxing.
Word to guys like Anderson Silva, Tom Aspinal, Israel Adesanya, Derrick Lewis etc

how are mods still defending this as "ufc discussion" ?

(not looking for some bullshit about "francis was ufc champ")

When it comes to anything to do with MMA, Ngannou should have 0 problem.

If R1 is boxing in 4 oz gloves, Wilder’s right hand is going to be terrifying for any opponent’s chin; even Ngannou’s.

Ngannou has pretty vicious leg kicks when he chooses to use them. The thing is he rarely needs to.
