Francis Ngannou: First PFL Opponent to Receive $2 Million Guarantee

No, because UFC didn't allow for boxing and we have no idea what the parameters of ONE'S offer was. I mean you can get giddy over this deal, but all the nebulous terms makes me see that as Francis got a lot for himself and not much of anything for anyone aside from his opponent who may or may not even be primarily a mma fighter

You do know that PFL had the fighter represenation and 50% revenue split for the super division well before Francis signed, right? It was part of Jake Paul's contract
Lol, you're such a negative person. Just cause he couldnt get all the things he wanted to help other fighters doesn't mean the deal he signed doesn't help other fighters cause it clearly does. For fuck sake when has another MMA fighter ever tried to garentee that their opponents get at least 2 million, you act like just cause he didn't get Healthcare for fighters that he didn't help other fighters in the PFL.

I get the feeling you have never negotiated your salary ever, you ask for more stuff than you know you will get and then they counter offer and they keep doing that till both sides meet somewhere in the middle.

he’s not trying to help anyone except himself. A $2mn guarantee for his opponent just makes sure they will match him against someone that will increase the PPV revenue and provide him a bigger payout. Otherwise PFL could have just given him any fighter from their roster for a PPV and it would not earn much for Francis.
Another negative Nancy, you must be so much fun to be around. BTW that was sarcasm in case you couldn't tell.

He also didn't get 50% revenue split on the super fight division ppvs or the fighter advocate stipulation as that was already done in the Jake Paul deal.

So Francis may get his next mma opponent paid, that's the win here? I mean if you see it that way, sure. I'll save judgment depending on who that opponent is. But right now I just see it as a deal that really only benefits Francis, which is completely fine

if u watch closely at his last 5 wins he won against brittle and aged fighters like cain jds and oldman stipe
i dont really know how francis would win against them if they where on their prime

Oh I watched very closely.

Rozi and Gane were undefeated, JDS had just finished Tai and Lewis, and Stipe was the reigning champ. Only Cain was compromised,.

But thanks tho

He fights Brock with Vince’s blessing just to allow Vince to make a power play against Dana in an epic WME/UFC/WWF intenral politics move.

Honestly if you are a HW with a decent name there is no reason not to try and jump in this, now I see why he is not fighting this year, they are gonna built the HW division around that prize.

Roz is a devastating power puncher and Francis ran through him, Gane is an amazing striker that is barely touched in his fights, Francis used his wrestling to get the victory, Stipe was being called the HW GOAT coming off two wins against olimpic wrestler DC, Francis stuffed his TDs and starches him.

Stop trying to discredit Francis, when he left the only top opponent he had yet to beat werr Volkov and Tai.

Your right. I couldn’t tell you were being sarcastic. So then you also don’t believe he didnnt make a good deal for anyone but himself if your statements are sarcastic. Or are you just confused and want to challenge everyone by playing both sides?

2024, hmm is he trying to entice Jones to fight in PFL next year..?

Some people don't only care about how much money they can make, he basically said he was set for life when he left the UFC. Money has no value if you don't want to spend more than you already have.
I'm talking about PFL guaranteed 2 mil for his opponent

Fedor coming out of his 2nd retirement?
A juiced reem rematch?
Bader if PFL buys bellator?
An unknown Eastern European wrestler who could lay on him?

What would be a big fight in mma? Is this the ppv model? Who vs francis is worth a ppv fight?
Who is worth the 2 million?

They better hope there is some free agents leaving soon because the landscape is scarce. Francis was smart to leave he was one oblique kick away from jones from being done

So much salt.

I was thinking that too. When he signed the deal for PPV points I was thinking it was pointless b/c PFL doesn't have any big names and he won't sell a lot of PPVs anyway. But if he can get a "name" fighter to come on over for $2mil he just earned himself a piece of a much larger pie.

No idea which HW free agent would come over though.
Doesn’t need to be a huge name just one that is unexpected and creates curiosity. Mike Perry vs Rockhold was all sorts of hyped and it was just weird match up that nobody thought of. Name value matters more than anything else. The 2 million is a pretty big carrot to attract potential opponents.

I've heard both Werdum and Rothwell toss their names out there.

lol so only 2 wins?
he lost to an oldman stipe
who is his best win again? retired cain and jds?
he struggled against gane who jones ate like a cake

I'm surprised PFL has the money to pay Francis' opponent at least $2 million guaranteed, because I imagine as a MMA org that they make very little in profits compared to UFC. That's actually a very good deal for whomever Francis is fighting, considering the scale of PFL is nowhere near UFC
