Easy to be dismissive of a statement you have nothing to argue against with no numbers, no charts, nothing but hot air.

Particularly notable, and potentially problematic for Democrats, is the growing population in the South.
According to the Brennan Center’s analysis, the South “has emerged as this decade’s growth engine, adding almost 3.9 million people and accounting for nearly all U.S. population gains since 2020.” By themselves, Texas and Florida accounted for 70% of U.S. population growth during this period.

I'm an English teacher, so as you can imagine, my peers are a little alarmed. My peers are also very good people (and my very best friends) and so we all sincerely do our best to serve the kids, regardless of their political leanings. There really aren't that many conservatives in education. The right are correct on that. Ten to fifteen percent? My principal is a conservative and doesn't mind saying it. I'm a Liberal through to the bone, but I'm not a progressive or a leftist. (I believe unapologetically in free speech, free markets, free elections, free association, and the equal humanity of all, which sets me apart a little from anyone I really know in my professional life.)

As for what has brought about the shift, boys have been pushed away by the left in a pretty overt manner. They've been literally told in pretty plain language that they aren't needed or liked. Beyond that, though, kids think their parents are lame. It's a universal. When their parents were hyperventilating about LGBTQ people, the kids all shifted left (and a bunch of them came out as queer). Now that their parents are hyperventilating about Trump, they've all shifted back right (with a bunch coming out as Christians or MAGA).

There is one further (ironic) factor that I don't think the right or the left have their heads wrapped around. The left is extremely welcoming to immigrants, and the right can be pretty suspicious of immigrants... but in my experience, immigrants can be pretty conservative (my school has a huge immigrant cohort made up of kids from over 60 countries speaking over 60 languages). This has the dual effect of bumping the raw numbers to the right and also giving right leaning viewpoints some much needed cover and acceptance in the face of accusations that associate the right with white supremacy.

On that note, I feel like if you did a deep dive into the uptick in Trump support among black Americans you'd find first and second generation African immigrants from nations like Nigeria disproportionately represented in that uptick.

Wasn't really so much "the previous generation" as their older siblings. This has been a dramatic and rapid shift.

As a teacher, I think it's important for me to say that in general teachers are better people than they are given credit for being. The vast majority of us really do try to serve our kids well.

Also, teachers do lean overwhelmingly left, but when it comes to more extreme progressive viewpoints, we're like all other adults. That is to say, when things shifted hard progressive in the late 20teens and early 2020s, even my most left leaning friends found themselves being continuously challenged and called out by their students from the progressive side of the spectrum. That sort of stuff is driven by the students, not the teachers.

The mistake the teachers make is not recognizing that kids are fickle and these more extreme views just represent a very natural pattern of experimentation with the new and the outrageous on the part of young people. The proper thing to do, as adults, is to give the views an open hearing and let the kids play with and test their ideas in a safe environment. Instead, a lot of teachers try to catch up and get on board with the next new way of thinking.

Except that we're old, man. By the time the teachers have caught up, the kids have moved on. And it's self-fulfilling, as well, because it's pretty tough for a kid to feel they are pushing the envelope and seeing the world in a fresh new way that is going to cure all of its ills, if said kid's ideas are the same ones they keep hearing from class to class throughout the day from their 40 year old schoolmarm teachers.
 
Just chuds being chuds. These guys don't accept accountability, they just double down on their wickedness until they get hurt then run like the pussies they are.

Honestly, I hate agreeing with you but this dynamic definitely takes a toll, especially when the nation has turned away from teaching critical thinking at home and in the classroom over a few decades. When you couple this with social media being flooded by righwing propaganda and you have a soup of influence.
