Social How a Gen Z gender divide is reshaping democracy

LOL. Every study shows both men and women are having a lot less sex.
And how exactly are these studies conducted? It's honor system nonsense, and it goes against modern attitudes towards sex by every metric. They're not putting cameras in people's bedrooms. You're just taking people at their word, and people aren't exactly honest when speaking about the sex they're having. To anyone, let alone a study group who wants to put it on record.

Now, I could see some truth to it for a percentage of young men, who have been screened into a life of isolation and social awkwardness, but the girls don't have to settle for those guys when looking to hook up. Plenty of dudes out there that they'll spread their legs for. It's not the same dynamic at all.

Is there some reason you think the number of men and women lying about their sexual habits would suddenly double? Because the scientific methods used to gather the data have not changed.

You can't just invent facts to support your narrative. We need to exist in a shared reality to have a productive conversation. And in this reality, the % of young people having sex, and the amount of sex they are having, has gone down. A lot.

But STD's are on the rise, and you can handwave that away with your own personal anecdote to support your narrative?

C'mon bruh, play by your own rules, if you expect me to abide by them. And yeah, I think these kinds of studies are junk, no matter what era they took place in. It's not something you can actually or accurately measure. Polling data in general is pretty sketchy, but this is even more questionable, because there isn't any result that points to any truth to there findings. In this case, I think all signs of modern attitudes towards sex, combined with STD rates climbing, points to the opposite.

So many male victims. So so sad.

That's not what I did at all. I didn't try and handwave it away. I offered a reason as to why std rates might be higher, given the FACT that young people are having less sex. I did not ignore the the FACT that STD's are also on the rise like you ignored the FACT that young people are having less sex.

The fact that STD rates are going up while people are having sex less is a frequently discussed topic. And there are probably a lot of factors. When you are ready to join me in the real world and acknowledge that sex among young people is decreasing, we can continue the dialogue. Here is a little light reading for you. I put the Institute for Family Studies article first, because they are basically a conservative think tank, about as conservative as you can get. As I said earlier, this has been known for a while now.

STDs are on the rise because more people are having unprotected sex. As AIDS is not that scary anymore, the population who has active sex life do not use condoms as much as they used to. This is well documented.

Less people having sex in total, but their behavior is much more risky so the STDs incidence is higher.

Beat me to it. 🥷🏻

But there's no reason to believe people are covering about their sexual activity now but were honest in years past.

In fact, there's a good argument that people are more honest today than in the past. Admitting that you had several sexual partners likely had a stronger stigma in the 70s, 80s, 90s than today. Yet despite this, sexual activity is way down.

In the end, the validity of public opinion polls has never been seriously questioned by scholars before. I'll take their word over those of internet skeptics any day.

As for rising STD rates, it can be explained in two ways: a rise in total population and risk-takers being the ones that have more sex with each other.

Total STDs are rising but if you look at the per capita numbers, it's kind of a mixed bag. Some are rising, some are steady, some are decreasing.

And since less people overall are having less sex, the ones that are likely doing it less are the shyer/most risk averse people. Whereas before these people might have 5 sex partners in their lives, now they only have 2. But the high-risk group is probably having just as much as before, except they only have other high-risk people to have sex with now, whereas before they had sex with low-risk people as well.

Only one of those things is a verifiable fact.

There is no actual way to truly measure it, but I'll stick with hard data and modern attitudes towards sex, over some junk science survey. We can agree to disagree. It's getting a bit off the point anyways. No, the modern sexually free feminist woman, who has dozens of sexual partners and abortions before the age of 22 is not "mythological". Even if it was true about young people having less sex, it doesn't erase that aspect of modern feminism and the women partaking in it.

I mean yeah we can throw a lot of excuses and hide our head in the sand pretending it's not happening because it's disturbing. Or else we can confront it and realize it has lead society to real relationships and intergender dynamics problems
How dare you deny Hellowhosthat's vast experience and knowledge of onlyfans!!

I want to agree with you but what prevents me from it is I'm not basing my opinion on the YouTube shorts. I'm basing it on the countless people who are saying that internet dating apps are totally unbalanced in favor of women. And where women with average looks, not education and no financial stability have standards that are present in a minority of very successful men.

I never installed those apps myself thank God, but I saw a social experiment where a women pretended to be a man and she was shocked by the results.

So for me personally it's not a matter of ignoring it and still do my thing, I did my thing already. Married and 3 kids, have a vacation soon in Spain with the missy only, it's going well.

But yeah I have a strange curiosity for this topic, perhaps cause my little brother is going trough those steps and he's suffering.

About your conclusion I agree, whatever the odds you have to learn to swim above the waters.

Tell your brother to look abroad.

My wife used to watch videos on Youtube of Americans talking to other random people in random countries (omegle.tv), and the biggest impression it had on me was just how sincere and friendly non-entitled Americans came across.

Of course, I'm not speaking about all American women, but a large majority of them are nothing more than petulant children.

The reason for that I believe is 2 fold. Social media, as you suggested, but also it's the fact that most Americans raise their kids as if they were god's gift to the world. They are brought up as princes and princesses who do not take no for an answer to anything they "want".

The point is, if your brother wants to increase his chances of finding a smart, reasonable, sincere, and friendly girl who is also gorgeous, you need to look outside of America in particular, which is the epitome of selfishness and spoiled brats.
