Elections For Canadians (and sure, Americans and others can chime in): Is this a good reason to vote Liberal in the upcoming Canada election?

So two members of the truck convoy were found guilty of mischief and not guilty of the rest of the more serious charges. Let’s see if that spineless Pierre Polievre condemns the guilty verdict. I mean, he supported the convoy, so he should come out and condemn this verdict. The leader of the ppc has, why is PP silent?
So many pussies including Mark Carney thought it was sedition. Michief lol!

How pathetic and soft do all of them look now. Pathetic how pissy they get when people don't agree with them.

Who cares if it was mischief. If he supported them, he should say something that the charge is bs. But he is quiet. He says he will stand up for Canadians. Can’t even stand up for the convoy leaders he showed up for. Dude is a snake.

That's an election winner right there. Just like Carney disclosing his assets/investments publicly. You're onto something! They should totally sabotage their own campaigns.

They are both out there trying to sway the other teams voters. That's why Carney is falsely overstating his role in the 2008 economic crisis. Now he's saying we didn't even have a recession because of him lol.

You said they look soft and pathetic now. So it would be a good thing to bring it up?

You mean Stephen Harper is saying that carney is overstating? He is still involved in the party. RIP Jim Flahrty. His chief of staff came out and said carny had a big role.

There are videos of Carney in 2008 saying we were in recession and recent videos where he says we avoided recession. Harper wasn't in either video.

No one is denying Carney had a big role. He did his job. That is setting interest rates and print money when told to do so. Tiff Macklem is shit at that job.

Yeah... I caught this. Trump is talking like Pierre is a non-factor

GnJWifqXMAA-4ik
What’s ironic is Pierre spent so much energy trying to be trump, giving his political opponents nicknames, coming up with catchy phrases, focusing on crowd sizes at his rallie that it bit him in the ass blowing a 20’point lead and making a forgone conclusion more interesting. Now he is trying to backtrack.

That idiot means the first PM who didn't already have a seat in the House of Commons. But he's wrong about that too <lmao>

"There have been a number of instances in the past where a prime minister didn't hold a seat in the House of Commons and there are also recent comparisons to be made at the provincial level."

"When John Turner walked into the House of Commons for the first time as the leader of the governing Liberals in 1984, he had to sit in the visitors' gallery.

"Turner had previously been an MP and minister in the governments of Lester B. Pearson and Pierre Trudeau. But after a falling out with Trudeau, Turner vacated his seat in 1976 to go work in the private sector."

Former prime minister William Lyon Mackenzie King holds the record for being Canada's longest-serving prime minister — but he wasn't always an MP during that time.

Twice King lost his seat in elections where his Liberals were able to form government and he ran in byelections to re-enter the House in both cases.

Even though the Conservatives won the most seats in the 1925 election, King was able to form a minority government with the backing of the Progressive party.

One of the seats the Conservatives won in that election was King's riding of North York. The then-prime minister ran in and won a byelection in the Saskatchewan riding of Prince Albert a few months later.

King also lost his seat in the 1945 election, his last as prime minister. He would again have to run in a byelection as the sitting prime minister in order to regain a seat in the House."

Fuckin' ignorant young'uns. How many times do they have to make themselves look stupid before they finally learn to just shut the fuck up and listen?

I was 10 years old when it all went down. but I remember the Turner era pretty clearly. My dad was an Italian Montrealer who loved Trudeau the elder (if you were from Montreal in those days you were either a separatist or a Liberal; those were your choices). He was also a pastor in a pretty conservative evangelical denomination where other pastors literally preached that you would go to hell if you voted Liberal. My dad just couldn't believe what was happening as Mulroney gained momentum. That election hit him pretty hard. What a bloodbath.

When Trump forced renegotiation of NAFTA, Harper was in the US badmouthing the Canadian team and undermining their position. He's a fucking traitor. He needs to take a seat on a sharp stick. Fuck that shitwad.

Whoever promises to raise emissions and speed up global warming gets my vote. We got pounded with 12"-14" of snow so far today and it's still snowing in the Sudbury ontario area. Going to feel like -20 Celsius tonight (actually -12). Ice was off some of the lakes last year at this time.

This whole season can just fuck right off. One day it's +15, and the next it's -15 with ice and snow.

Hey weather, it's April. Act accordingly, ya psycho.

How easy is it for an American to vote in Canadian elections? Do you need ID?

I wish my friends up North the best. I don't think what they do will effect me much.

I am at the Edmonton Conservative rally, the lineup was like 2 km and they say that 11,000 are registered to be in attendance I've never seen anything like this outside of an oilers game

Edit - 15,000 in attendance, that make this the biggest rally in Canadian history.

Marxist Carney won't get that number if you combine every rally throughout the campaign.

I saw CTV the "covering the event" the guy was asking if there was anyone who was camping out since this morning waiting for the event who would like to be interviewed. Nobody was there that early but plenty of people asked if they could be interviewed about the rally or anything else related. The guy flat out said, no there isn't really a story there.....so the biggest rally in Canadian history was not newsworthy.... yet the Carney rally that doesn't draw fly has coverage from CPAC and every news outlet, even CNN !?!?

That's an event for sure. Jealous you got to hear from Harper directly.

I've been to rallies on both sides a few dozen times, but they all pale in comparison to this. Never felt an energy like that in my life, when we sang the anthem it was like everyone in the building was doing so with the full meaning of their hearts behind it, I got chills down my spine. Oilers in the playoffs didn't even come close.

This wasn't the first time I've been in the same room as Harper, that would be the 3rd. I did get to shake our next Prime Ministers hand though, he really is a genuine leader.

Rally sizes. Dude says he isn’t influenced by trump. Can’t stop emulating him.

Emulating him by being popular ? Brilliant argument bud. Usually being more popular is a great way to win an election.

Despite what your girlfriend tells you size matters.

Gushing over crowd sizes is a weak look. Then faking smile on top of it. Plus, they are debunking his numbers. 15k would be great if true. I was at the raptor game last night and there was just under 20k.

Lying about rally sizes is even worse than gushing over fake numbers.
