Elections For Canadians (and sure, Americans and others can chime in): Is this a good reason to vote Liberal in the upcoming Canada election?

So things are great in Canada and the last 10 years have improved it. Division, crime rate, drug abuse all down right? Deficit gone? 3 small deficits remember? Housing is affordable as fuck yo. My kids aren't fucked at all.

Riiiigggghhhhttttt. We don't need a dramatic shift to the right at all after the Liberals even out-lefted the NDP.

Where in any of the words that I used did I imply that things are so great in Canada and/or that the Trudeau regime is primarily responsible for all of what you are complaining about? You sound bitter (maybe talk to someone about that?)

As far as current Canadian politics, Carney is the most centrist and--absent the pandering to Alberta and culture-warrior rhetoric--could be pretty easily confused for a neoliberal conservative.
How ?
He literally wrote a book calling for a one world government to establish a global set of values. He he gives the credit to Marx for actually defining and creating the intrinsic values that he thinks economics should be rooted in. He also gives Marx credit for pointing out the flaws and weaknesses of capitalism. He champions everything highlighted in the great reset theory. He praises the chinese social credit system and calls for a centralized digital currency.

This isn't a conspiracy theory I highly suggest getting a copy of his book, Values.

This sounds like a lot of whining and "welfare queen" histrionics. You're telling me that these "incredibly lucrative" salary earners cannot find childcare so they stay at home? So there are no market solutions for this? Day homes, private nannies, etc.?

Do you also think that most/all parents who could otherwise not afford daycare will sit at home watching soap operas uninterrupted instead of using at least some of their free time to find more employment and better their financial situation?

The one thing I do observe with alt-right commentators is that they seem to think all of their opponents are radical leftists. In fact, the radical leftists and identity champions only make up maybe 1% of the tail in a population distribution. This is one end of the bell curve mistaking everything left of it for the other end of the bell curve.
This is the post I should have quoted. You are basically accusing me of lying. I live in a small northern ontario town. There are 2 major daycares and they are full. My wife who is a manager puts on the scrubs regularly to cover the shortfalls while perfectly capable nurses are at home because they can't leave their kids. This is true no matter how hard you don't want to believe it. We can't all live in cities.

When I dropped my kids at daycare I personally witnessed skids in pajamas dropping their kids at daycare whose costs were completely subsidized so they didn't have to parent for the day. Again, I must be lying. Subsidized daycare already existed prior to the new scheme. Why did we need the enhance a massive money-losing scheme? I took care of my kids and paid my bills.

Your "radical left" take is the polar opposite of reality. There is no "right" anymore. Only "far right". The term "radical left" is used much less than "far right".

I could find you an article that might suggest an opinion for you or you could read the book, this is the guy you are voting on, I think everyone should read it and truly get an idea what they are voting for.

yes, a quality book review would be great. or post lengthy, unedited passages from the actual book to better illustrate your points.

I don't think you are lying. Lying would imply a solid grasp of the facts, which are deliberately distorted to serve your ends. I don't think you are citing any facts. I am critiquing your opinions, not your version of the facts.

Now, your personal anecdotes don't serve as facts either. They might explain your far right views but your anecdotes in no way factually represent the national picture, on which you are staking your claims.

Sorry, I identify as a guasi-neo-super-mega-right-wing-ideological-anon. Identity is everything you know "that indian".

I clicked your link and it brought me to a story about the nippissing PC candidate stepping down. I didn't see anything about the candidate that was FIRED by PP for his heinous comments.

Did I miss that part of the article or did you link the wrong article? Honestly I was not referring to the Trudeau hanging one. I was referring g to the stepping down of the lady from nippissing.

Even still, PP fired his candidate. Zero support. That is the right move.

Services created with printed $ must be cut. I support it 100%. Fire all of the 40% federal employee increase added under Trudeau. Eliminate the beuracracy, don't need that revenue. Balance this shitshow ASAP.
So, at the end of the day, the score was 3-1 for the Conservatives. Congratulations {<jordan}

Hey, at least they are taking it seriously this time. In the past they barely vetted their candidates. Locally our candidate is very weak, but he passed significant vetting. He'll lose, but at least he isn't a former criminal.

This all happened pretty fast and candidates have come out of the woodwork for all parties. I don't even know if there is an NDP candidate in my riding. They are fucked.

Funny how the guy who has been touting that Canada is Broken hasn’t been using that divisive rhetoric on the campaign trail. We could use more of his open and honest thoughts on the state of Canada. Although we know the state he wants Canada to be is the 51st. Well. Probably not, but it’s fun to watch him totally change his stance on so many things.

How do you feel about the liberals pulling multiple 180's on their spending and taxing policies?

Aside from the carbon tax, what else are you talking about?

Anyway, if they didn't make any changes to their policies, they'd be accused (already have been, for that matter,) of being Trudeau in a different suit. So, if the carbon tax is that unpopular, it makes sense to scrap it as a practical matter. It was a good way to pull the rug from under little PP as a very nice bonus. If people are going to claim Trudeau did lasting harm to the Canadian economy (I don't agree but whatever the case many are convinced of it) so it makes sense to be able to point to changes to economic policy as a positive talking point.

All that having been said, I'll vote for a Liberal turnip before I vote for the Conservative party leader (that looks like one). So, the Liberals would have to take some pretty radical actions before I would care about changes to their policies when it comes to this particular election.

There are a lot of people who feel the same way about Trump Lite. It will be interesting to see how many come election day.

We are currently watching capitalism fail in real time. Donnie and his mates are loading their bags before the end

New leader. New policy. Policies can adapt to deal with the times, but making a 180 on your personality says more about you as a person than changes to your platform. You can still see that smugness, but pp is doing his best to mask it. I’d love to see him go back to that interview when he was eating ab apple a see how it goes over. That dude tucked tail. How about them apples.

None of the parties actually deserve a vote they’re all fucking terrible. The best you can hope for is another coalition government that at least forces them to work together a little and compromise.
Do your best to spread the votes around even if it means voting for a party you’ve possibly been against your whole life.

So two members of the truck convoy were found guilty of mischief and not guilty of the rest of the more serious charges. Let’s see if that spineless Pierre Polievre condemns the guilty verdict. I mean, he supported the convoy, so he should come out and condemn this verdict. The leader of the ppc has, why is PP silent?

Toning it down is not hypocritical. Doing a 180 on all of your policies and plagarizing your opponent is very hypocritical. Desperate times call for desperate measures. Gotta keep the Uber rich getting richer!
