Finnegan's Wake

My back squat is at minimum 405, since I did that for 3 reps I remember. I can't remember if I maxed out after that or not.
My Zercher is 455 x 1.

MMA:
1 hour

Not much for me. I helped a fight team member out dealing w/ aggression from side/ half/ and mount.

Progression went like this:
Side: 1 min.
Half: `1 min
Mount: `1 min
3 minutes rest
Side: 1:30
Half: 1:30
Mount: 1:30

Rolling:
1 minute
3 minutes
5 minutes

end.

Impressions:
Not a lot to tell. I unjammed my finger to the point I'm not feeling pain in it, so I feel good ttraining again. Other than that, I was more or less just helping out a teammate tonight.

hey man.. that's what a team is for. i just finished matt hughes' book and he rags on tim sylvia a lot in it because he's not a team player.

people don't realize how much a strong team and training partners matter in grappling and mma. i would say that without them, you cannot find any serious level of success.

I agree. We all have different things to offer one another. I don't mind helping out, esp when its time for to train for my next fight and my teammates get to beat some bad habits out of me.

Intervals

Tabata Protcol
3 four minute rounds w/ 30 seconds rest between rounds

Round 1: Jump Rope (working toward double under, high knee, sprint in place
Round 2: Ab Wheel Burpees
Round 3: Sledgehammer (10 lbs)

Impressions:
Not a bad workout. Could have went through it again, but running a bit short on time before work.
Hand felt fine on everything, Foot still a bit of a hindrance on the ab wheel burpees. Not sure if I'll try for a better time on this month's conditioning challenge or not.

Conditioning:
Complex 1:
All weight done w/ 135 lbs, 2 minute rest between complexes, 4 total
Snatch Grip Deadlift x 8
BORs x 8
Cleans x 8

Complex 2:
done three times. Ueed a 45lbs plate for all exercises.

Row x 8 each side
Overhead tricep extensions x 8
SOHP x 8 each side (this is quite difficult with a plate, I found)

Random: demonstrated some skullcrushers, different rows using a 55lbs dumbell, loaded plates for lifting partner, some db lunges etc.

Impressions:
Fairly light conditioning tonight. I planned on some leg work, but my foot started complaining, so I settled for one leg conditioning session for today (the intervals before work).
The plate thing was interesting. Keeping a wobbly 45 balanced as you press it (I have the type with the cut outs) is quite difficult.

Gear Recieved:
100 grams Chocamine powder
1000 grams Beta Alanine
2.5 meter long Knee wraps from ATP (not for me, but I'm noting this since I ordered them two days ago and they are here, standard shipping.)
300 lbs Heavy Grips gripper

Impressions:
The knee wraps look interesting. I ordered them for a lifting partner w/ horrible knees at his request. Not sure if it was a good idea or not, but he can pull 405 and can only squat 205 or so due to knee pain, so he decided to give these a shot to get him out of the hole. I may borrow them just to see what's the big deal about knee wraps.
The Heavy Grips were cheap, and I can tell. The knurling isn't very deep, I don't trust the spring, and I can't close them. Only one of those is my fault.
Anyway, they'll work for now. I'm going to try some Beef Builder (Elite) soon.

Density Work:

The Devil's Circuit:
6 Catch Rows, 55 lbs dumbell
6 BW dips
6 Burpees

Repeat circuit as many times in 20 minutes as I could.
Goal: 18 (6+6+6)

Results:
Devil's Circuit x 20

Totals:
120 Catch Rows
120 Dips
120 Burpees

Impressions:
Since I got the Chocamine, I had all the ingredients for a Devil's Cocktail on hand. So in that spirit, I decided to do this rep scheme. I did well. and will probably top 25 the next time I do this. The complexes I did yesterday kind of hindered my dips, which were, surprisingly, the hardest to do toward the end ( I was expecting it be burpees)
Overall, I'm pleased.

Note: I did one round on the DE bag with handwraps. Right hand still hurts a bit. Not ready to get back to bag work/ sparring just yet. Still need to heal up.

No. its, well, its this thing:

<object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/luPxrUKSrRs&hl=en"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/luPxrUKSrRs&hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>

Opportunity to work that jab stepping power jab with that bum right hand, perhaps

Yeah. That's the plan. I'm going to work 1-1's, 1-3's, etc. The foot is good enough to kick with again, so its time to get back to it.
