I've been seeing some tier lists and Zangief is in the basement as usual.
I'm not a serious player of SF, but I did have 5 and have been eyeing 6 and it's annoying he always seems to suck. And even with updates, he never even gets to the middle of the pack.
So my question is, does Capcom do this on purpose? Like, is there some data that suggests fighting and losing to Zangief is a more frustrating experience than losing to other fights, and so to avoid off-putting experiences for players who might quit playing the game or whatever, they intentionally keep Zangief as a super weak character?
He's one of the SF2 original 8, and yet he is always treated like trash.
