Fighting Games Discussion

Lol, wow. I don't even play Granblue, but wow.

Yikes. Like the rest of you I do not like this trend whatsoever. Execution has always been a huge part of fighting games. Things like timing and range are obviously a huge part of what makes a fight, but just like in real fights it shouldn't be super easy to pull off every technique.

Wow Evo pools are super stacked lol. I wonder why SnakeEyes isn't going, doesn't he live in LA? Quick view.

I uninstalled the game fucking crapcom with the noob catering shite again (Dr cancels on whiff after new update). The footsies part of the game was what made me tolerate the op offense. This is a huge nerf for Gief and really sucks the fun out of the game for me.

If they change the Dr cancelling on whiff update or adjust it somehow for gief someone please DM me.

Honestly, the game does kind of suck at times. Have you ever noticed that sometimes Gief's DI does not wall splat his opponent at times? It's only ever happened to me playing as Gief. It's never happened to me with any other character that I've tried.

Also playing with other characters seems like a relief compared to Gief. With Ken, JP, Cammy, etc I can just mash crouching/standing lp like an idiot and confirm into a special, lol.

What's funny is that the reason why I didn't pick up Granblue was because of the netcode. After they announced Rollback I was interested, but not anymore. It's like they pulled me and then pushed me back out, lol.

I always assumed I misjudged the distance for the DI. But in general he sucks and now he's worse and more importantly less fun imo. I played one ft2 after the update against a Chun player that I focus on whiff punshing against and it happened more than once. I said fuck it I'm not about tolerate bs from Capcom all over again.

Fundamentally I loath the dumbing down philosophy that seems to be prevalent. But look at the scrubs and 'like whores' on Twitter they all cheer this stuff on. faith in humanity=gone lol.

Some of them literally argue that modern controls don't make things easier "because you still have to read your opponent" that's how braindead these guys are lol. I've seen it first hand how it buffs the reaction speed in a crazy way and leaves no room for human error.

Ya, I almost snatched it up on steam a few weeks ago when it was going for super cheap. Then it dawned on me I did the same with Under Night last year and still have yet to download it so I'd likely never play it.

Nah. Sometimes the opponent will already be pushed into the corner and they'll stumble back or fall into nothing, lol. The last time it happen the guy stood there confused. He probably put his controller down thinking it was the end.

Gief will probably get nerfed since Capcom doesn't go by tier lists, but their own internal shitty rankings. That's why Cammy kept getting buffed while Alex got the shaft in SFV.

Now that's fucking hilarious.

I always find that the best. Like with JP he has the full screen Level 3, but, you have to really time and react it very well if you want to catch it on a jump. But with Modern you literally push a button and it'll come out. How on earth can someone argue "there's no difference in reaction" lol. Shills.

Dayum, these Qanba arcade tables are awesome. Now I want one badly...

Yea definitely looks awesome lol.

Interested to see how SonicFox does in Mexico this weekend. He's been absent from tournaments this whole time, apart from TwitchRivals, so today is his first offline tournament, and then there's EVO next week.

This!! I caught a shoto with JP's level 3 right when he threw a fireball. Feels great. If it was forward + a button, then it's nowhere near as satisfying.

What tournament?

Edit: Nvmd. It's Smash Factor X. Only 120 entrants though.
