Fighting Games Discussion

@MMAisGod Great job getting that Modern Honda crap out of there, lol.

You saw that right??? I saw a huge group and didn't know why, then saw that random Honda with the 24 win streak terrorizing the queue and was like okayyy let me take him off real quick haha.

@what-wut this time 5-13 against my bud in the revenge match. He used Ryu this time (his other main from Zangief). We were supposed to go to 15 but he had to run. Didn't win the set but much better than the 10-0 of last time LOL. And a couple of matches I got super tilted and probably didn't play right haha. Baby steps.

Yeah I saw you in one of the Euro servers and I was thinking, "Why is he in here?" Then I saw that crowd of people and thought, "Ah. I get it." When I spectated the match before yours, he was on a 23 win streak and I thought, "Good for him." Then I saw the "M"...

Anyway, I just wanted to achieve this with JP:

@what-wut @MMAisGod Some of King's multigrabs have been simplified so even dogs and cats can pull them off although doing the original inputs does more damage. His RDC is simplified as well.

smh thank god I don't play tekken, I tell you what though, it's really surprising how a simple fireball or dp motion can be so hard for casuals, I've played sf casually my whole life basically (missed out on sf3) but got deep into it when sf4 came out, so these motions feel natural to me. But I distinctly recall playing cvs2 around 2006 2007 and handing over my controller to a buddy to try and he just couldn't do any of the moves. And it's not like he never played video games or anything. but he really struggled to pull off a simple dp and hadoken.

I've tried teaching some people how to throw fireballs and yeah it's tough for a lot of casuals to get it right. Of course older games like CVS2 are more strict with the inputs than newer ones, but most struggle with the news ones too.

Anyway, Namco changed King's Rolling Death Cradle from this:

Ahhh yea nice!!! You ranked there relatively quick too. JP might be a guy for you!

Oh gosh every game just loves "simplifying things" now. It's not like this stuff was so hard to begin with.

I've never understood that as much either. Sometimes dudes will be hardcore FPS players with twitch reaction speed, but can't do a DP. It's weird to me.

Thanks. Unlike Marisa, I started in silver. I want to get there with Gief, but I'm struggling especially when getting pressured. Any tips @what-wut ?

Bryan's taunt jet upper is still the same, but they reduced the damage afterwards big time. Odd.

That's also a bit of a struggle for me, but here are some general tips

1-Use drive reversal if you have full or close to full meter

2-Use level 3 as reversal, even when it misses, later on they will start neutral jumping on your wake up you can lariat.

3-Use your lp and lk to interrupt their offense, often they leave a space for that.

In general very important to have good anti air with Gief. I have switched L2 to all three punches so I can ex lariat easily.

Post of your matches you struggled in or dm me I'll take a look so I can give better advice in general.

Well this explains a lot.

Oh no wonder. So I have to be neutral to break throws.

I try to do #1 and #3 and that works sometimes. #2 sounds good. I'll definitely work on more lariats on my opponents netural jumps.

I really wish Lariat would hit opponents behind Gief, lol.

Try and walk back a bit before you press it, it helps a lot.

The hitting the opponents behind only really bothers in the JP match up and also juri to some extent.

Edit: add Chun LI to that list lol.

Tekken 8 officially got cracked lol. Get ready to see tons of "old CNT videos" in the months to come from random people saying they never heard of the crack.

I of course would never partake in such piracy, never.

A lot them tend to jump over me for a cross-up than straight up so I have to try to react to it.
