Fighters who retired too early

Point to a fight where he showed off his striking.

And who says Ben wasn't legit? Ben faced way more legit competition than Konrad did. Konrad's best win is Neil Grove.

What is this? What's with this hate for a guy who retired eons ago

Where's the hate? I'm asking for a fight where he showed off his striking. You are the one insisting he's a good striker.

I always think of Chad Mendes. He was 33 and ran into Alexander Volkanovski who was unheralded and ranked 10th at the time. He almost put Volk out at one point but got overwhelmed by the pace and finished. He took that as a sign he was past it and retired. Then Volk goes on an insane run and becomes one of the greatest fighters of all time.

I wouldn't see Mendes ever winning a title but he could have been a contender for at least the next few years. I think he smokes the good not great guys hanging around the top 5 now like Ortega and Yair.

I think those T/KO losses at the end and shitty situations in some fights (Aldo fence grabs, no camp vs. Conor) just killed his confidence/motivation, he probably realized the championship window was shut at that point.

i never said he's like good striker as a whole. I mean good enough, you are comparing him to Ben ffs.

Mendes probably could beat a lot of guys back then or even now. But retiring at 33 when he wanted to from mma doesn't sound like a bad idea to me.

Did I want to see him continue? 100 percent yes.
Yeah, I think Mendes retired at a fine time. Just trying to think of someone who retired too early is a bit difficult.

How many more undersized terrible cans could Carano fight? Probably a lot she got pretty fat. Konrad was smart and knew he was boring as fuck and latched on to the family business instead. Arona just wasn't motivated by stepping down to UFC level.

You underestimate the power of can feeding by Bellator or whatever. Konrad was good though. Gina got so big might as well fight Gabi Garcia in Rizin.

Unfortunate Arona retired early, but wouldn't say too early since he wasn't that young, and still left his mark on the sport.

Here's a throw back. But Clint Hester. Think he's a full time fire fighter now.

Are we calling retiring just not coming back or actually putting on the whole retirement show?

Because Brock still also had more left in him. But unfortunately testing probably really forced him out. But we can still blame the divercilitous wink wink

Cant believe nobody mentioned Shane Carwin!

Oh dear SherDawg, what have u become, a playground for bathtub-braddas and newbs who buy their sheet… Oh dear SherDawg, where the real Shermanos at!?!?
To be honest though I feel he left at amount the right time, the JDS fight really exposed his limitation as a striker.

He has more subs than Cain, JDS and Brock combined.

Only 1 of those is a somewhat decent win over a UFC reject.

The combined record of the other 3 is 3-5

2 of those guys have 0 wins LOL.

The only grappling threats he's faced is old damaged Mr. Glass Cain who got injured instantly when the fight started

I like Francis but he's shown nothing in the grappling dept. Mo Smith is more impressive

Cain has zero sub wins. Brock has one over a guy who was completely gassed.

And no, Cain didn't get injured, Ngannou knocked him the fuck out.

How many takedowns does Francis have?
What percentage of takedowns has he stopped?
Aside from old injured Cain how many good grapplers more importantly wrestlers has he faced?
Blayeds x2? LoL

And clearly you didn't watch Cain v Francis. Cains knee buckled when he got Francis to the fence.

That Cain would've folded just as fast vs JDS or even Kongo lol
