Well Colby's old now, but DHK was ranked #7 when he beat him, Maia was ranked #3, RDA was ranked #2, Lawler was #10, Woodley was #5 and was champ a year earlier, Masvidal was #6 and was the last title challenger, Usman and Leon were the current champs.

Do you think he should have hand picked lower ranked guys because maybe they'll eventually have better rankings?

I just think Colby is massively overrated and picked guys he could beat while desperately avoiding others.

He fights once every 1.5 years tops, even in his prime and besides Buckley, never took on a young up and comer once. All of those guys were on the back 9 of their careers when Colby beat them. RDA is probably his best win

Same with Topuria doing that while still in his prime, yet everyone on here keeps his nuts in their mouth. He's fought once in the last 15 months, his 3 ranked fights were Emmett who was 38 coming off a loss, Volk was 35 coming of a brutal loss and 2 of his last 3, Max hasn't been champ in like 6 years with 5 losses in those years and had just put on muscle to move up and had to come back down, and now fighting nearly 36 year old Charles who hasn't won 2 in a row in over 3 years while avoiding Evloev and Arman and only wanting gifted title shots.
