Law FBI raids John Bolton's house looking for "classified documents"

Because you would be implicitly accepting this by falling into that trap, right?

There are two positions of consistency - "It was no big deal that Trump did it, so it's no big deal if Bolton did it" and "Trump did this shit and we know how serious that was, so this is just as serious".

You're suggesting the former, but I think the right answer is always the latter.
Remember trump obstructed attempts to retrieve the classified records he was hoarding. Important distinction.

I guess we know what the Alaska meeting was all about , trump was taking notes from Putin

Kidding aside this undeniably has shades of early Putin moves to quell dissent and sow fear

lol... This might be true... but it's not

You don't get to just forget what the Deep State through Hillary/Obama did to Trump in 2016.

And by deep state... John Brennan and his lackeys

You can keep trying to bury it, but it's not going away.

You can't blame Trump for going full revenge this term. He tried to play ball early in his first term and all the DNC and FBI did was fight and impeach him. Over the garbage Russia hoax

They should fear

Bolton is the perfect stooge to flip on the others....

They both also didn’t have the power to declassify, thus actually commited crimes, while Trump didn’t. That is a huge difference

Anyways, need to get me one of these hats!

Lol at Trump declassifying records. Hahaha. Anyway, you realize declassified records belong to the public as well? Not for Trump to just keep them from the public.

To be fair, they don’t have to forget what they did to Trump, because they believe they didn’t do anything wrong, and that Trump really is a Russian asset. Moreover that there was no lawfare against Trump and those were all very organic cases

It's John Bolton, fuck that warmongering neocon asshat.
I don't care how he goes to jail, if they have to plant a bunch of evidence and hit him with trumped up charges so be it.
No sherbro!! This is the end of democracy!

Dems hated Bolton with a passion now hes their hero - just because he hates Trump. Dems dont really have policy they have Orangeman bad and thats it ....... oh yeah they are for things like ......open borders , rights of criminals , homelessness everywhere, suddenly war hawks when they learned Trump was a Dove dressed as a hawk, etc.

Yes, Bolton is a "hero" to Democrats. *rolleyes* what a crock of shit.

Having classified docs in one’s personal possession when they shouldn’t is always serious, it just didn’t violate the law on retention of classified documents. That law states that a person who

knowingly removes such documents or materials without authority and with the intent to retain such documents or materials at an unauthorized location shall be fined under this title or imprisoned for not more than five years, or both.”

Lots of people have had things like that in their possession (Biden, Pence, Clinton, etc) and they usually give it back, say “oh shit I didn’t realize I had that still” and that’s the end of it, because it’s difficult to prove that it was willful.

—Not so in Trump’s case. He lied about having them, moved documents so the government couldn’t find them, pressured others to hide them and commit crimes on his behalf, then admitted having them and tried to claim they were his, that he declassified them with mental telepathy, and whatever. There’s no question Trump violated the law, yet his supporters didn’t care. Now they want to play the “no one is above the law” card when they did nothing but work to ensure that Trump would be.
He also showed them to random golf buddies and bragged about how secret they were..

If they will never change back to being left center majority (Bill Clinton dems) an keeps letting the Progressives be the voice then I hope they keep it up as Anerica keeps leaving em. That needs to continue ie untill the party wakes up and the adults are in charge again.

I am no fan of democrats. I think they have lost their voice as well have a branding problem but the GOP is controlled by the most extreme wing of the party. The fascists are in charge and that’s not even debatable at this point.

As far as the thread goes if he had documents that he wasn’t supposed to have and was leaking classified information then prosecute him. No one gives a damn about Bolton. I also oppose selective enforcement of laws.

He gave more than 11, while fully cooperating

In June 2022, following a subpoena, Justice Department officials and FBI agents visited former President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate to retrieve classified documents,
according to The New York Times and ABC News.
According to reports, Trump personally greeted the officials and agents, stating "Whatever you need, just let us know" and "If you need anything at all just ask Evan" (referring to his lawyer Evan Corcoran).
Trump's lawyers provided the FBI with 38 documents marked as classified in response to the subpoena.
You're giving numbers without contextualizing anything. This is arguing in bad faith.
And saying "whatever you need, just let me know!" is not the magic words that absolve Trump from acting in bad faith as well. The fact that he wilfully and knowingly withheld key sensitive documents that were improperly stored, and for which he allegedly ordered their destruction, is acting in bad faith and highy illegal.

Doesn't Bondi say this all the time now? Starting to become an Orwellian mantra for this admin.
Amen. I know people throw around Orwell comparisons a lot, it there’s so much about this administration that’s Orwellian.

They also found Biden to have classified documents in three separate locations, that he had been holding on to for over a decade, yet you guys didn't think it was all that serious.

You're re-writing people's reactions. First of all they didnt have the same kinds of documents. Trump had ones that could only be viewed in a bunker and you lot didnt even question how those got out of the bunker. Second, the reaction and charges were in response to what happened once it was discovered that classified documents were somewhere they shouldnt be.

Biden immediately cooperated and surrendered the documents. So did Pence.

Your Supreme Leader was given MULTIPLE opportunities to surrender them and not only did he ignore those requests, he then openly declared they were HIS property, and his subjects took no issue with that. He also further concealed them after it was discovered he had them, and had employees move them.

But hey false equivalencies are cool

“No one is above the law!” says Kash Patel.
—Except of course, the dude he works for, whose house had to be raided for the same reason. I eagerly await the comments about how serious this is from Trump supporters who didn’t give a flying fuck about it when it was their guy doing it.

For anyone who needs a recap on the Trump documents case a few years back.

I don't like John Bolton. But I am against the use of authoritarian powers to go after people for political reasons.

If there is evidence he has these documents in his possession, fine. But allow me to harbor skepticism on that.
Evidence of your claim?

Was he really fully cooperating if he still held onto documents until he was raided?
