I was inspired to make this Fantasy Battle (possibly the first of many) due to the Avengers vs. GotG discussion in the Infinity War thread a few days ago. This is just for fun and hope you enjoy it. But for now, in the immortal words of Bruce Buffer - It's Time!

I looked and looked and looked again for my honourable mention as the inspiration for this thread since I think it was my question of who would win, in another thread that you said inspired this thread.

And here i am still looking

Nice thread DL, regardless of the inspiration. Some real funny stuff here. <45>

This match is a bit one-sided, so I decided to give Star-Lord an aero-rig jet pack just to make it more interesting. Star-Lord doesn't normally wear an aero-rig, it's not part of his normal gear. But even if Star-Lord was still part Celestial, he'd still get the beatdown since the only extraordinary feat he has shown was surviving touching the Power Stone for a few seconds.

This is movie version right? Because comic Starlord stomps Cap. We don't really know the extent of the movie versions powers.

In DC it's all about the psychology of the individuals, their psychology defines their powers rather than in the marvel universe where their powers tend to define their psychology.

That's kinda why I like DC so much. Batman, no powers just human like many of his arch enemies, joker, penguin, Dr Strange, Enigma, Cat woman etc.

Superman is near enough a deity and his arch nemesis? Lex Luthor, zero powers.

It's the lack of powers in key hero and villans that leads to more interesting writing. I see marvel in contrast as mostly wish fulfilment and power fantasy.
Funny how two people can see things so differently.

What I see in DC is typically over powered characters who only get defeated by NORMAL humans because they are directly feeding out wish fulfillment or ego in saying 'look we normal humans can overcome gods'.

It is the same in alien invasion movies like 4th of July. We should stand no chance but in the end good old human ingenuity and heart beats back any alien invasion. It is pure force fed wish fulfillment that otherwise makes no sense.

Ya I get it that seeing super powered beings at all requires suspending belief but it is a far stretch farther when gods are being beaten by regular powered humans.

So Thor and Hulk stand no chance against Superman?

If Supes fights to win, no they don't.

If Supes fights like he almost always does fight than Hulk will eventually beat him if they have no knowledge of eah others power limits.

That is because Superman almost always fights simply to make his opponent quit. He won't go for a kill shot with Hulk early and KO him. He will keep pounding him and demanding he quit and surrender not realizing Hulk is only growing in strength the entire time. At a certain point suddenly Hulk's strength will equal Supermans and Superman will have to put everything into it just to hold Hulk off. And then Hulks strength wiill exceed Supermans. Remember Superman does tire and need to recharge while Hulk never tires and only gets stronger until he eventually wins, if you don't KO him when you can.

Superman could easily beat Hulk at the onset but he simply wouldn't and most times if you stuck to cannon Superman would lose to Hulk.

I don't know bro... Hulk gotta touch mantis... & unless he gets the kill shot immediately, he's fooked. I suppose he could throw something at her... but if mantis plays it all sweet... I think Hulk would take the bait & touch her more than 1/5... much less 1/50. You gotta get real with this. Hulk can be talked down with words & a friend & transform. We're talking about a sweet girl putting telepathic love straight into the big guyz heart. What do you say?
Per the rules in the OP, the combatants will fight to their optimum and will try to finish the fight as quickly and efficiently as possible. There are so many ways Hulk can win against Mantis. Hulk flat out punches Mantis. Hulk front kicks Mantis. Hulk jumps at Mantis. Hulk runs and tramples Mantis. Hulk thunderclaps Mantis. Hulk stomps on ground causing seismic shock and then punches Mantis. Yes, there are scenarios where Mantis manages to touch Hulk but not before being punched, kicked, smashed in the process. It's like you managed to touch a wild bull but you get mauled in the process.

How does Hawkeye finish Groot? An arrow with an explosive on the end aught to do it.

How about an arrow with some "Weed killer" on the tip? <Lmaoo><45><45><Lmaoo>
Hawkeye has a lot of trick arrows and a few of them are explosive arrows. No weed killer arrows though. :) No anti-ing or prepping for this battle.

I haven't seen the movie, but TV Flash loses. He always loses at first.
Fortunately for TV and Movie Flash, there is no flagrant Plot Induced Stupidity in my Fantasy Battle.

Glad you enjoyed it. I updated the OP with honorable mention to you for the inspiration. :)

Thor from the comic books beats superman.

Superman is weak to magic and thor is written weak in the movies. The comic book Thor has way to many powers and he beats superman.

Thor & Iron Man would kick all of the buttocks.

Frankly, I don't think the whole team could take on Hulk in an open field without some setups or outside interference.

Yup. At a minimum he should be a very powerful mutant with half human, half Celestial parentage.

While the Ego Planet was the initial source of all his and Dad's power we should assume that Ego tying Starlords birth and power into Earth should still give him so power he can draw from the Earth.
<mma4>

Hadn't thought about Pops making earth a power supply for his kid... But as we've seen, he did leave his essence on there in the form of a plant... so we could very well be in for a sweet awakening in the Infinity Warz movie.

That said... does that mean Pops still exists?

Good stuff. Mantis jokes aside, Iron man vs Rocket was my favorite.

I love the Guardians, but they're getting creamed in this fight.

No need. Superman beats everyone. Batman is the only guy that can beat him and is an ally.

Superman should beat everyone. But he wouldn't. He's too dumb.
