All these solutions are BS - point deduction, warning, they don't level the playing the level field.
if someone uses an eyepoke, they need wear an eyepatch for the rest of the fight.

You use a double eyepoke like Gane, that's an instant DQ.

But more so refs, need to start warning fighters who intentionally stick out their fingers like Jones, Gane. And if the fighter continues to do it, deduct a point.

I don't know what the answer is. Rogan's idea a long time ago was to put full gloves on fighters to blunt the impact of fingers into eyes but the complaints of that is it would lessen the feel when grappling. The UFC wouldn't even give the longer Pride type gloves a long look before switching back..

No. They wouldn't ...or better said. Yes they would, but at same time they would protect orbitals aswell, which is not intended. From top of my head, MacGyver style shit - some glass/clear plexi/ gel capsule which would fill eye socket. Like there are eye lenses, it cannot be that hard to utilize them for protection...
