Media Dricus Du Plessis: "Khamzat fight is 100% what I want... that gets me more exited [than a Sean Strickland rematch]"

Strickland should rewatch Khamzat vs Whittaker and his fight vs Costa if he thinks he's getting the next shot...

Would love to see the African champ in action again. If anyone can do it it probably is him.

How many champs lately ruin their legacy with rematch bullshit? It doesn't do shit to fight the same name twice. Imagine if Volk didn't fight Max 3x and just fought him once. Usman if he didn't fight Masvidal and Colby twice. Enough is enough.
100% this.

Fuck these rematches when they haven't been earned and there's other contenders that are more deserving.

Nobody wants to see Sean get another shot. Nobody. Khamzat has earned it. He's the clear contender. Izzy had his chance, Strickland had his chance - now it's Khamzat's time.

And if DDP beats Khamzat - props to him. But personally I think he's high on himself right now and Khamzat is going to be a much bigger challenge than DDP realizes.

DDP never been scared of anyone at any point of his career. Not even scared of me.

Strickland had his shot with DDP and got yet another split. Then UFC gave him a lay up with Costa, still a split decision. It's crazy if you look up the last 3 title contenders in each division, and looked at their last few fight records, many coming off losses or mixed.

Like 2-2 in last 4 fights in 4 years Colby gets shot over 4-0 Shavkat/Belal/JDM.

I'm sorry but UFC has to go back to trying for original matchups that match up the best vs best. If you're a fan of the sport aspect of mma, considering champs only take 1 fight every 6 months, and fight 1 real contender out of 3, you can wait 1.5 years for a real matchup. Like Leon had to rematch Usman, then Colby fight, then finally got someone deserving and he lost every round.

Thin Jizzy 😁😁😁
Can someone shoop Phil Lynott with Izzy’s face?
@SenorFranko @Van Daz @Reach4theSky .....can one of you fine gentlemen help our friend here sirs?

I am just saying this because using the Costa split as an example is giving more power to the judges trying to manipulate things, that was not a fucking split on any metric and a ridiculous/wrong call. But back to Khamzat/ddp...

That did not take long.

Dricus has already managed to p*ss Khamzat off and gotten under his skin. Apparently, Khamzat scoffed back at Dricus for claiming he will be the first one to beat Khamzat LOL

He didn´t scoffed or got pissed he replied with laughter because dricus message to him was you will be surprised when you feel my strength. We won´t see trash talk in this fight imho

Colby must have some kind of blackmail material on Dana because nobody actually likes him. He doesn't sell PPVs. He's lost 3 fucking title shots and hasn't beaten a legit contender in...ever?

Why the fuck does he keep getting ranked so high and getting these title shots coming off of losses?

Guys like Colby, Wonderboy, Strickland, etc. need to be kept far away from title contention. If Colby beats JDM or something then we can talk, but Shavkat is the clear contender and if Belal is out, an interim title fight makes sense. But let's see new faces, not the same washed up guys that keep making excuses and losing big fights.

You can run up and down the divisions. Stipe gets a title shot off getting knocked out. Dustin/Volk (the second time) getting LW title shots despite 1-1 in last 2 fights. Izzy getting titleshot against DDP despite being 1-2. Jiri (rematch) and Pereira getting title shots being 1-1 in last 2. Gane getting a 2nd title shot after beating Tuivasa being 1-1.

I'm not trying to hate on some of those fighters, there are some context to why guys like Pereira got title shots. But fact is there are active fighters in the division on 5+ fight win streaks, who are in no mans land.
