Conor wasn't favored over Khabib. The line actually mimicked this Khamzat/DDP line a bit. Khabib opened -225ish (I'm estimating but close to that). Casuals bet Conor and it dropped to Khabib around -185 come fight time, right about where Khamzat is now.

Oh well whatever reason I thought Conor was favorite and everyone was like wtf about it. Maybe alzheimers is setting in or I need cut down on the weed.

No he wasn’t… Khabib was like -220 at closing.

It's simply because it's Dricus. Nothing in his arsenal is considered to be elite or even the best of the division. He's not technical, he's unorthodox as fck, & has one of the weirdest styles ever. But all of that is what makes him an anomaly & incredibly hard to figure out.

Also Khamzat has been incredibly hyped & pushed as the next big thing for years & the UFC is gonna ride his "stock" as long as possible.

DDP is one of those guys who will be doubted up until all of his accomplishments are looked back on & appreciated.

DDP is technically ugly, but tactically pretty smart. I expect him to have a good plan to deal with Khamzat’s wrestling. We’ll see how well it holds up. As the fight goes longer I tend to favor DDP.

Oh I had a solid sized bet on Khabib. I should've waited longer than I did though. I got Khabib -205 iirc and I shoulda known Conor would draw action and I'd get a better price.

These oods are sensible. Dricus IMO is the better fighter and will win but It's hard to see why he should be favoured to the untrained eye. Khamzat has passed the eye test and has beaten top MWs, Top WWs, and has never lost while implementing his game at the highest level successfully against everyone he's competed against.

kham is not some slick submission artist, I've barely seen his ground and pound. To have this as a lock for khamzat is kind of mental. his sub attempts versus usman were dogshit and he was on his back for 5 minutes. Did zero damage otherwise. You don't think a full-sized MW with a full camp like Dricus can survive better than Usman? + he has a smart team that gameplans very well for each opponent.

I want DDP to lose, but I don't think you can knock him out—it's one of his skills, actually. This is a hard one to pick because it's Khamzat's whole career, whereas I bet DDP vacates and moves up whether he wins or loses. The dude is too big for this weight class, and it's starting to get annoying.

Ditto. After the trouble Khamzat had with Burns and Usman, IMHO there's no way DDP is going to let this get to the Championship rounds just for the bragging rights.

Fully expect a submission or a KO before the end of round 3 - more than likely from a still fresh DDP.
