Dricus being around +200 is insane too much

Ditto. After the trouble Khamzat had with Burns and Usman, IMHO there's no way DDP is going to let this get to the Championship rounds just for the bragging rights.

Fully expect a submission or a KO before the end of round 3 - more than likely from a still fresh DDP.

Predicting an early finish for DDP? Bold.

Disagree but I like your conviction.

Odds are not always about who they think will win, but who they think the public thinks will win. Khamzat has been highly hyped and the average Joe probably buys into that hype. Also he's a very dangerous fighter. He could easily finish it in the 1st round. The relentless pursuit of TDs has been very successful for him with just a couple of exceptions. The problem is that if it doesn't work then he has tired quickly and then it becomes a 50-50 fight. I was not a believer until the Whitaker fight. I expected that to be a much closer fight.

It's simply because it's Dricus. Nothing in his arsenal is considered to be elite or even the best of the division. He's not technical, he's unorthodox as fck, & has one of the weirdest styles ever. But all of that is what makes him an anomaly & incredibly hard to figure out.

Also Khamzat has been incredibly hyped & pushed as the next big thing for years & the UFC is gonna ride his "stock" as long as possible.

DDP is one of those guys who will be doubted up until all of his accomplishments are looked back on & appreciated.
He does not have pretty technique, but I’d argue that his chin, power, overall strength, and adjustments mid fight are elite. I also don’t recall another fighter being so cognizant while recalling the fight back during his in cage interview either, even while gasping for air; he might fight like a spazz, but he appears to be very calculated.

The Brunson fight was a BAD look for Dricus.

TDs easily. Side control, mount, back with hooks, choke attempts and almost finished in 1st....

Brunson by far is the best grappler Dricus has fought and Khamzat is on another COMPLETELY different level grappling from Brunson when we compare both their Holland performances. Same opponent same grappling approach.... Very different fights

Dricus has only fought strikers since Brunson and even strikers like Rob and Darren got him down. Darren got a reversal and you can see in that clip what Brunson was doing. So odds are saying if Brunson can do that in round 1, get him down at will with dominant positions, almost finish why can't Khamzat who is the most dangerous 1st round fighter in MMA right now.

People can say Brunson fight was 2 years ago but Again since then Dricus has only fought strikers - Rob, Izzy, Sean and his TDD isn't good and he faced no grappling threat. Rob even managed a TD. Look at Dricus kicking in the clip he had no worry about kick being caught and taken down against Izzy, Rob, Sean it's very different with Khamzat.

Agreed, looked sloppy as hell against Brunson. If Khamzat gets anywhere near any of those positions its a short night for Dricus.

Dricus has seen worse. He was +385 underdog against Whittaker. He will be fine.

This has all the makings of a hilarious “I told you so” arc from DDP.

+200 is legitimately insane. Even a week out.

That going to narrow, but anyone who’s watched this sport for a long enough time knows this is at least a coin flip, and has every possibility of being a career defining performance for DDP.

There’s going to be a lot of crow eating here on Sherdog once this is all over.

Even the tone of their respective interviews is extremely telling.

Khamzat - “I will grab and smesh DDP within 20 seconds. Total domination.”

DDP - “Khamzat is just a man.”

Khamzat seems to think this is his personal coronation ceremony while DDP is treating it with a grounded approach. I’ve been saying it elsewhere, but I don’t think Khamzat understands that his own Tyson-esque mystique is as much a product of UFC marketing as it is a product of his abilities.

He believes his own press.

His cardio is going to be tested well beyond the levels he’s had to fight at up to now. If this goes to championship rounds, he’s going to get thrashed like a seal being hunted by orca on a beachhead.

Chimaev will need to finish him early or jump out to a massive lead. His gas tank isn't the greatest unless he's somehow improved it. He has a clear advantage in everything else though

Love it man. I've already dropped some money on DDP and will do it again this week with him part of a parlay.
