Nothing really did change. He got a Fentanyl Czar and a few other things, on top of all the other shit that was already in place, due to his tariff threats. He paused them because it was always the plan, and he even managed to squeeze a little extra out of the deal at the final hour.
Because that's how he is selling it. Who cares? The Canadian government announced those measures due to his initial demands over the potential tariffs. Doesn't matter what date it happened on. It was all done in response to the tariff threat.
None of those border measures happen without the tariff threat. It doesn't matter what date we decided to appease him on. You're asking why people think Canada did this on a certain date, and not whether or not we did it in response to his tariff threat. We did respond to his tariff threat. The people playing this game like we always had those plans, are just as full of shit as the people thinking we made them the day before the tariffs went into effect. Bottom line, we implemented all those border security measures because of the tariff threat. Doesn't matter what day it was on. It's the sole reason we did it.
