Economy Donald trump to impose Tariffs feb.1st.

I literally gave you the thread that a bunch are in. You could just click over and see them. But yeah, they don't exist unless I go copy/paste each one while posting on my phone. Good grief.

It affects what you've said because you attempted to frame my view a certain way on this topic and all those posts belie that assertion you've made. And of course you know this, but will instead play this game where you feign ignorance rather than just offering a mea culpa. Unsurprising, but sad just the same. Integrity not something you seem to cherish I guess. Carry on.
Reminds of the cabinet hearings - minds are made up, but why or why won't you answer my very specific question out of context with a yes or a no so I can have that small victory. The more you try to add context and proof, the 'feigning' of ignorance or surprise is what a lot of this reminds me of. Sad really.

What position did I ascribe to you that wasn't yours? And in which post did I do this?

You used this as "an example" of how I am a "faux centrist" that tries to both sides everything. I'm not going back to find the specific posts (there were multiple, and everyone saw them and you know you did). The totality of my posts on this topic unequivocally show otherwise, you were shown this, and have ignored it.

If you'd now like to state you realize that in this case my one post regarding the Dems not doing a good job communicating with the public about the repercussions of tariffs does NOT reflect the gist of my takes on the tariffs in general, great. If not...just continue being an intellectually dishonest hack.

Fun fact: both Trump and Biden got Mexico to send 10k troops to the border. Neat.
No he didn’t… lol

Trump used tariffs as a bargaining tool

You clowns are blind with TDS

Make no mistake, Canada would get fucking crushed in tariff war. They need US money coming in.

The average GDP per capita of Canada ranks below West Virgina… let that sink in

Trudeau can talk big… but it’s all show

Canada gets more subsidies than the poorest red states
Didnt Canada start to beef up border security back in December?

Of course you don't want to get into specifics, that's usually where your arguments fall apart.

When you made your posts about the supposed failure of the Dems communication strategy I addressed that point on its own and then made the more general point that its typical of your "both sides" posting, nothing you've said here would make me rethink any of those posts and idk why you think they would.

I'm literally asking him to provide more context but he's the one who doesn't want to get into the specifics.

Since you're the third party and favorable to mkess101 here can you explain exactly what posts you think I made ITT that warrant a mea culpa and why?

just a heads up, nobody gives a shit about you two arguing, we all stopped reading pages ago...

Trump calling HIS DEAL, the USMCA he negotiated in 2016 ..

"most significant, balanced trade agreement in history"

'We have big trade deficits with Canada... I look at some of the deals that were negotiated and wonder who the hell made these deals...'

Apparently biden's "deal" with Mexico didn't work

I love how you cut off the rest of 2024 which was lower than trumps last year in office lol

The "specifics" are in the multitude of posts that I literally linked the thread for you here! You're only answer is that unless I copy/paste each post again into this thread, you'll pretend they don't exist?? Are you 11 years old LMAO?

I mean the specific claim I made that you think is undermined by one of these posts you're referring to. That some left leaning posters liked some posts of yours in another thread is not enough. You're all over the place here and you tend to play fast and lose with the claims of others so I'm going to want you to highlight the specific claims you think I made that are disproven or undermined by specific posts you made ITT or elsewhere. I'm definitly not going to make your argument for you if that's what you're expecting.

Take this shit to the Lounge already.

Take this shit to the Lounge already.
For real, this is a pretty important thread I'd love to see some intelligent perspectives on but this is cluttering the shit out of every page.

@Islam Imamate @mkess101

Guys, I get it, I've had my fair share of page cluttering arguments, but eventually you gotta pick it up and take it to the lounge......

........OR call it for what it really is.

It's not about the fentanyl. He got the same deal that was in place before he kicked up some dust, but in his babbling leading up to it he was talking about U.S banks, annexing Canada, immigration... There is no plan. There is no clear objective. Trump is a short-term thinker, and leads and is a daily improviser. He also loves the attention and having news cycles covering him 24/7 to satisfy his egotistical demands. Even the WSJ called this the dumbest trade war in history. There is no rational justification to piss on a hundred years of diplomatic goodwill right now, and the fact that his (receding) base is talking behind him is indicative that misinformation and the cult of personality that is Donald Trump still has a hold on the psyche of millions of people.

Trump's favorability rate dropped 10 points since his inauguration and he's still in the first 100 days of his Presidency when his favorability should be sky high and/or ascending. My prediction is Democrats will gain a lot of ground in the midterms. All this chaos is not good for him or the Republican Party.
Totally agree. I was thinking more about shoring up the boarder and clamping down on trafficking.
