It's not about the fentanyl. He got the same deal that was in place before he kicked up some dust, but in his babbling leading up to it he was talking about U.S banks, annexing Canada, immigration... There is no plan. There is no clear objective. Trump is a short-term thinker, and leads and is a daily improviser. He also loves the attention and having news cycles covering him 24/7 to satisfy his egotistical demands. Even the WSJ called this the dumbest trade war in history. There is no rational justification to piss on a hundred years of diplomatic goodwill right now, and the fact that his (receding) base is talking behind him is indicative that misinformation and the cult of personality that is Donald Trump still has a hold on the psyche of millions of people.
Trump's favorability rate dropped 10 points since his inauguration and he's still in the first 100 days of his Presidency when his favorability should be sky high and/or ascending. My prediction is Democrats will gain a lot of ground in the midterms. All this chaos is not good for him or the Republican Party.
