Economy Donald trump to impose Tariffs feb.1st.

Trump and Trudeau to meet in the morning

At least I was part right. I thought it would take a new conservative govt to get to this point but good on Trudeau if a deal can be worked out. Fuck me it hurt deep inside to say good on Trudeau.

Let me guess you guys have a green logo.
I met a few people from there over the years in my line of work.

If we do I haven't seen it.

Nah, he won because the Dems enacted all of their worst policies possible, and then tried to memory hole them six months out from the election.

If Biden(or his nurses) had actually been a moderate, and didn't waste money and time on a bunch of far left nonsense, Trump probably wouldn't be in the conversation right now.
You dint even know what policies your talking about I know this

You don’t even know what policies your talking about though ? Your just repeating the news .

This guy lied right here about everything he states here ,but I guess you guys like being lied to ,I know your not educated enough to actually know what so I’ll give you one ,fir one Mexico has a water shortage and they’re in debt bc of a water treaty long ago not anything to do with exports or imports , the azz kicker is the shortage is due to actual climate change you know the ones that don’t exist ? Lol

The other things he states is pure bull shit bc what he’s saying is a lie ( big surprise) the U.K does the exact opposite what he’s claiming he even lied about the Panama Canal and China but I’ll actually give him a pass on that one bc taking control over it ensures any possible future China threat from using it to ship any weapons it might need etc etc .

He’s blaming import to exports as a reason mainly to the deficit which has little to do with it in reality he’s just pushing his weight around as a smoke screen to use this Tariff thing bc it works short term not long term as he knows but he won’t be around so he won’t care he just wants to look good on tv .

The United States' national debt is high due to a number of factors, including increased spending, tax cuts, and the COVID-19 pandemic.

Factors that contribute to the national debt
  • Spending: The government spends more than it collects in taxes, which is known as a budget deficit.

  • Tax cuts: Tax cuts can reduce tax revenue, which contributes to a budget deficit.

  • Stimulus programs: Stimulus programs can increase government spending, which contributes to a budget deficit.

  • Unemployment: Widespread unemployment can decrease tax revenue, which contributes to a budget deficit.

  • Aging population: The aging population in the US has increased healthcare costs and the cost of mandatory spending programs like Social Security and Medicare.

  • Interest costs: Interest rates have risen, which increases the cost of servicing the debt.

  • Wars: Wars like the Afghanistan and Iraq Wars have contributed to spikes in the national debt.

  • The Great Recession: The Great Recession of 2008 contributed to spikes in the national debt.

  • The COVID-19 pandemic: The COVID-19 pandemic caused a rapid increase in spending, which contributed to spikes in the national debt

I like how worried americans are about china transporting weapons thru panama canal, while americans are transporting weapons globally in their military bases all over the globe lol

Who the fuck has china invaded last that makes you so worried of their military?
US government is throwing dirt at China purely because Chinese economy is overtaking US economy and US government isn't going to take that (hence sanctions on Huawei and other successful chinese companies under the pretext of national security).

We only give weapons to foreign partners and NATO Allie’s . China doesn’t have to invade anyone it’s already a threat on its own using virus like Covid and software hacking , we’re the number one superpower it’s a responsibility to keep a huge threat in check we’re the only thing stopping Russia and China from seizing your own country, make it make sense .

ah ok then its not the one I was thinking of.

Probably for the best, it's a terrible company.

When the Canadian company I worked for was absorbed by them, also a terrible company, I had some hope they would repair the disarray in management.

Never happened, all that matters is the bottom line. Everyone in North America is focused only on meeting the monthly targets, crippling future targets to satisfy the present. I was transferred to the heavy machinery division because they're incredibly inefficient and I have extensive experience in Kaizen and 5S, but I was given no authority and all of my advice has been ignored.

"We only give weapons to foreign partners and NATO Allie’s" > so basically everyone not called n. korea, russia, china or Iran..

covid fucked up china more than any other nation in the world - they had the most dead (even tho they reported the least lmao), most of their economy was shut down and government risked public unrest with quarantine measures
If they tried to militarize that virus, they failed epicly.

you're worried about software hacking? edward snowden proved that US hacked and listened to its own allies (UK, German and other governments) and every US citizen for years now. Russia, N. Korea, Iran and China are hacking western nations and each other, Israel/US/UK are hacking western and eastern nations - its a shitshow and singling out US as the good guys is insane cosindering you have the largest known data collection program in the world.

Russia has trash tier military - they aren't able to seize 3 villages in Ukraine without massive loses, I think Europe is just fine.
and China has its sights on Taiwan - they ain't seizing anyone across the globe. China isnt threatening freaking Denmark over Greenland.

Hilarious seeing Liberals in meltdown over a country putting its people first.

How did we get to a point where this is such a foreign concept?

Tariffs do not mean "putting its people first" - also, US is already the largest and most powerful economy in the world, why fuck over your allies in trade wars? so you could be first first?

We will see how it plays out, if its cheaper to make in America they will make that change. If Trump epically fails on this he deserves all the shit and more. His tough talk doesn't get called out much, Pam am said they don't with China, what happened with Colombia (which I still need to visit heard great things). I think Trump will push it to the limit and if its about to get too crazy bail at the last second, but hes hoping they cave in.
We already know the answer because tariffs from his first term didn’t bring jobs back. Trump misses the point completely. He fails to understand (or maybe doesn’t care) that corporations don’t give a single fuck about the American working class. China will just use factories from another country or American companies will simply find another country to exploit cheap labor. Trump needs to actually throw down regulation on this company but sadly GOP is all about deregulation. https://econofact.org/factbrief/did-the-trump-tariffs-increase-us-manufacturing-jobs

Who exactly are America’s allies? All the countries currently swamping themselves with third world islamists?

As JD Vance said, it’s not beyond the realms of possibility that Britain will be an Islamist nation very soon.

I agree with some of the points, GOP is all about deregulation but not all the way. If company's think they will all stay in the same boat collectively passing the tariff funds to the consumer, I think they will be wrong. A company will break the stride and make their products in USA and sell if for cheaper. I think some sort of control reset should happen. I still think countries will chicken out and bend the knee and if not, we will see if Trump is a complete failure or not with this. I think its harder to predict then what people realize due to many moving pieces. And Trump is unpredictable.

I made a thread on topic of US allies - most agreed, that only Israel is left as a true ally because for some reason US governments will bend over backwards for israel (no matter who the US president)
Trump made sure that Canada, Mexico and EU shouldn't count on US support/trade anymore.
