Do you think Jones can handle a loss mentally?

The only calculated risk he is taking fighting Stipe is out of all the HW's who is going to sell the best and earn me the most money. It has nothing to do with wins or losses. Jon Jones doesn't believe he would lose any fight.

How would he handle loss...probably not the best outside of the training room or cage based on his history when he has everything going for him in his professional career. The Hamil BS was easy to overlook and get over.

hes made millions, has a ton of fans, and has a lot of things he probably does on the side. Id say yes,

GSP etc didn't talk repeatedly about changing weight class for a whole decade before doing it. That's what people slag Jones about, not the move itself.
And then he does it and people say he's ducking blachowiz.

Jones is taking a calculated risk fighting Stipe. It's Stipe, one of the best HWs ever, but it's 41 year old Stipe who was knocked out badly last time out and hasn't fought for over 2 years and 7 months and hasn't won for 3 years and 2 months. Jones took 10 years to move to HW. He admitted he would never fight DC at HW. He ducked Big Frank and is studiously avoiding Sergei Pavlovich and Tom Aspinall. He's talking about retiring after this fight.

But this is still Stipe we are talking about. Over the hill, inactive, but still an outstanding wrestler and boxer with heavyweight size and power, 6'4" with an 80" reach and used to knocking out high level heavyweights. This could go wrong for Jones. What if Stipe EMBARRASSES him and stops him in the first round? Jones has never really been defeated, avenged DQ notwithstanding. He is talented but he has also doped, cheated and cherry picked his way to where he is now. He also has a history of criminality including drug abuse and domestic violence.

What do you think he will do if he loses to Stipe? His cherry picked fight gone wrong, 36 and clearly past his best, both belts gone and he will have to get through Stipe/Aspinall/Pavlovich to get the HW strap back. His technical 0 gone. Would he take the loss gracefully, take the money and ride off into the sunset with tarnished legacy? Would he stick around as a 2nd tier HW? Would he go purple pillow like Ronda? Or have some kind of breakdown involving drugs and law enforcement? Maybe we will find out.
Jones is so terrified of losing that he purposely partied in order to give himself a built-in excuse for losing; I'd expect a full blown meltdown and an arrest if he lost.

He's 36 now. He has matured. He hasn't had any issues in a long time. When was the last time he broke the law?
July 2019: sexually assaulted a waitress.
March 2020: aggravated DWI, negligent use of a firearm, possession of an open container, and driving with no proof of insurance.
September 2021: beat up his wife in front of his daughters and then headbutted a cop car during the arrest.

Jones has routinely broken the law since 2012 and that's unlikely to change (if anything, I expect the frequency to increase after he retires).

Yep, it's a legitimate loss. Especially since he has been known to use illegal moves in fights across his career.
Dunno why anyone moans about that outcome. Even if you are beating the piss out of your opponent, multiple illegal shots to the face should be a disqualification loss.

He's made a career out of it. Ducked Brock, JD's, Cain, Reem, etc and fought manlets and popped. He should be on lifetime ban.

This Stipe is a shell of his prime self. This fight will answer no questions whatsoever.

No, I don't. After losing to Hamill due to cheating, Jones spent the rest of his career continuing to find ways to cheat, and get arrested.

And then he does it and people say he's ducking blachowiz.

That's just Sherdog Operational Procedure. The inventive folks on here will find reasons in order to gleefully accuse ANY fighter of ducking someone. There were some trying to claim Stipe was ducking a third Ngannou fight ("isn't it suspicious Stipe pops up from his hole immediately after Ngannou leaves the UFC? Mmm-HMM"). As if a trilogy was even something the UFC was considering and Ngannou was campaigning for...

But I can't think of any other fighter that cockteased the fans for a decade about moving up "soon" to a new weightclass. So when he finally gets around to it, you can't blame the long-suffering blueballed for speculating why NOW was the time he finally did it.

Oh look another Jones is ducking thread...

Sherdog : Any fighter that wins in Jon Jones division ,, " this guys gunna kill jones"

Also sherdog : After Jones beats said guy " Ofcourse jones beat that guy that wasnt ready, the fight looked fixed "

Again Sherdog : Jones calls out his next challenger " ofcourse jones would pick him instead of unproven contender #17364883 "

Once again sherdog be like : When Jones beats all comers and all names mentioned in O.P and retires undefeated and HW champion " dudes still a p.o.s and beats his wife, u cant be GOAT with Roids " ...

Bottomline everyone Jones doesnt fight he's ducking and anyone he beats is a shit fighter anyways .... basically Jones will never be appreciated or respected in his time ...it will be Sherdoggers of the future that will understand his contribution and the chaos that is Jon Bones Jones...

Jones did do it to himself though aa all true narcissists ,he is his worst own enemy, dont AT me bro! Deal with it ....

I don't think the fight will happen. I can't help but envision Stipe landing that one punch that finally cracks Jones chin. If Jon was knocked out for the world to see I think he would implode psychologically
Jones is about as good as it gets when it comes to mental toughness. Hate him all you want, this is just wishful thinking from you

It’d be a bigger deal if the Reyes, santos, and Gus fights never happened. Dude should have anywhere between 1-4 L’s.
