Do you think Jones can handle a loss mentally?

He handled his loss to Hamill in a very mature was so I assume he'll do the same if he losses again.

I'm sure he'll go on a coked up twitter rant at some point but that's pretty standard for him.

Jon Jones is incapable of losing fairly in the ring. If he ever does lose, it will be due to a circumstance out of his control. He’s kinda like Hulk Hogan in his prime.

There have been multiple instances during his career that he has been saved from a loss only because of some judges scoring some coinflip rounds in his favor. That's just luck, nothing else.

Jones is taking a calculated risk fighting Stipe. It's Stipe, one of the best HWs ever, but it's 41 year old Stipe who was knocked out badly last time out and hasn't fought for over 2 years and 7 months and hasn't won for 3 years and 2 months. Jones took 10 years to move to HW. He admitted he would never fight DC at HW. He ducked Big Frank and is studiously avoiding Sergei Pavlovich and Tom Aspinall. He's talking about retiring after this fight.

But this is still Stipe we are talking about. Over the hill, inactive, but still an outstanding wrestler and boxer with heavyweight size and power, 6'4" with an 80" reach and used to knocking out high level heavyweights. This could go wrong for Jones. What if Stipe EMBARRASSES him and stops him in the first round? Jones has never really been defeated, avenged DQ notwithstanding. He is talented but he has also doped, cheated and cherry picked his way to where he is now. He also has a history of criminality including drug abuse and domestic violence.

What do you think he will do if he loses to Stipe? His cherry picked fight gone wrong, 36 and clearly past his best, both belts gone and he will have to get through Stipe/Aspinall/Pavlovich to get the HW strap back. His technical 0 gone. Would he take the loss gracefully, take the money and ride off into the sunset with tarnished legacy? Would he stick around as a 2nd tier HW? Would he go purple pillow like Ronda? Or have some kind of breakdown involving drugs and law enforcement? Maybe we will find out.

Jones would pop and he will blame not popping hard enough.

Jones to wwe

Well he nearly murdered Hamill with illegal elbows. He's notorious for eye pokes, gear, and hitting grounded opponents. Class act.

Yep, it's a legitimate loss. Especially since he has been known to use illegal moves in fights across his career.
Dunno why anyone moans about that outcome. Even if you are beating the piss out of your opponent, multiple illegal shots to the face should be a disqualification loss.

It could either humble him or make him go even more off the rails if that’s even possible. It’s a wildcard, which is fitting for him lol.

Yeah. He will just say it's some test from God or something.

Absolutely.

Anybody who understands what type of character he is...

Sociopath. As many have noted - he's gotten away with and gets away with so much shit in life and some not and some things which people have seen or found about - think of all the apparent 'shame', public shaming etc. he should feel or have gotten... he feels none of it, he doesn't care, regardless of the words which come out of his mouth...

He says whatever he needs to say in the moment - he brags about his skullduggery, his cheating in fights, like McGregor does, who is also a socio - but Conor has more... narcissistic and vain self-obsession about his image than Jones so McGregor doesn't handle loss very well. He did back in the day, but he's let his ego get out of control now.

But Jones... I guarantee people would be surprised. Just because he's never officially lost on the cards - he's lost in his mind, he knows when he lost and probably relishes that he 'got away with it' and laughs to himself, and so if he ever does officially lose, probably will be like 'alright got me, fuckers. For once' and just laugh and come back and continue... life is a game to him. Won't bother him

"took Jon 10 years to move to heavyweight"

How many years did it take GSP, Khabib, Aldo, etc?

GSP etc didn't talk repeatedly about changing weight class for a whole decade before doing it. That's what people slag Jones about, not the move itself.

Dude Jones can lose twice in a row and it can be just because he's about to retire. He has tons of mileage in the sport and his record is basically sealed. I don't think he's going to enjoy losses as a competitor, but I think his ass will grind 2x as hard in the gym with an updated gameplan until the rematch instead of crying.

It depends on how it happens imo

He looked like he was prepared to lose the Reyes fight when the decision was being read.

Being undefeated or on a long streak is a tremendous pressure. He looked almost relieved IIRC

Anderson was like this after he lost to Weidman

Not everyone reacts like TJ did when he tried to EPO cheat to beat Triple C

Jones cares more about how he is viewed. Thats what really bothers him is that people know that hes a cheat and a shitty hypocritical snitch.

It bothers him that people found him out.

I dont think a fair loss,in itself, would bother him that much, esp at this point. But who knows?

I’m not confident he’s going to be able to navigate himself through the rest of his life without serious issues even if he doesn’t have a loss hanging over his head

He's 36 now. He has matured. He hasn't had any issues in a long time. When was the last time he broke the law?

Just a few months ago, he was calling himself a hero for pissing hot. He hasn't matured.

Anyways, Jones can't even handle winning mentally. A loss would really send him over the edge.
