Do we really need JDS vs Velasquez 3?

5 rounds of schooling> flash KO

In your opinion. Facts dont lie-Junior is able to finish Cain in under a minute and a half. Cain couldn't finish Junior in 25.

Not taking anything away from Cain but you calling the 1st victory a flash ko is disrespectful of JDS talents and ability. The 3rd fight is a must and could go either way. A subjective opinion on which type of victory is better does not change that.

Nope, JDS should at least win another 2-3 fights to get another crack at the title.

All the people going on about luck are taking away from Cain's accomplishment as well.

I think JDS deserves it however really he needs a few fights and a good 6 months off to regroup and refigure out wtf happen.

Let him face the reem/bigfoot/werdum those would be awesome fights

Not till the end of 2013 or early 2014.

I think JDS needs to have at least one impressive win.

I'm not really into HW at the moment though. The fights lately have looked pretty awful. It's as unwatchable as FW, for different reasons.

LW and WW are the only respectable divisions at this point in time. Okami laying on Belcher has killed MW for me.

A rubber match should definitely happen at some point. I thought Cain getting a rematch after 1 win was a little too soon. But I think it's only fair to JDS if he should win 2-3 more to get one as well assuming Cain is still the champion. Both would be undefeated in the UFC if not for the losses they share to one another. A trilogy would be fitting.

JDS needs to earn a rematch. When you get your ass kicked in a match, you need to string together wins before you get another crack at that guy. That is how I see it, at least.

Had JDS barely lost the fight, I'd say JDS should have to fight a top contender then get a titleshot.

I think instant titleshot rematches are silly.

Let's look at the score card by rounds:

Cain: 5

JDS: 1

The first fight Cain came off an injury and layoff and punched by what people say maybe was a lucky spot hit that threw off the equilibrium.

This fight, Santos said he was 100% and he was dominated for 5 rounds.

This is hilarious btw, so many people saying before the fight that we really dont need to see JDS dominate Cain again in the rematch. And now its the exact opposite. I think a 3rd fight would go differently, but Cain would be the favorite. Right now JDS needs one or twoo top wins before a rematch

Haven't been here in a while but it's good to see that some things never change: Sherdoggers are still retarded.

Whoever uses the "figher A got lucky" or "lucky punch" theory should be beat senseless. What constitutes getting lucky or a lucky punch? Did JDS slip on a banana peel in the first fight making him lunge forward thus allowing his punch to hit Cain harder? Did Cain get a piece of dust in his eye allowing JDS to hit him?

Here's the thing, dos Santos KTFO'd Cain in the first fight. Cain thoroughly dominated JDS last night. Let JDS lick his woulds, fight Ubereem in an eliminator fight and the winner gets Cain.

Got lucky? Freaking imbeciles here.

Do people seriously not get that Cain had to land a punch to get him down and then gas him to get the subsequent takedowns? I (and the Vegas betting lines) always pick grapplers over strikers to win. I pickled Cain to win. But when I saw that he couldn't take him down, I thought he was in trouble. JDS's TDD is amazing. At that point the 60-70% edge Cain had by being a grappler turned in JDS's favor. Cain landed that great punch and the rest is history.

I'm personally in awe of the beating that JDS took and that while gassed his cardio never made him give up. He is a great HW in a very thin division and there will be a third fight whether you think there should be one or not. If JDS has to earn the rematch so be it. Won't be hard. The only real challenge is Cormier. That being said, i've always known that people that compared JDS to the all time greats like GSP, Anderson and Fedor were off their rockers.

Iirc Can got his first takedown before knocking JDS down, he was however diving for JDS' legs without setting the takedowns up or closing the distance before he landed that big right hand. Also Cain was outstriking JDS before he landed the big right that dropped JDS.

I would say that Cain is the better striker of the two but JDS hits harder and could finish Cain with a punch/punches but I'm not sure Cain can do the same to JDS.

I don't have a problem with a rubber match, since they are both 1-1 against each other. The rematch shouldn't be immediate and JDS should have to win at least 2 fights before there is one after the way he was dominated for five rounds last night.

I think it will be better if JDS and Cain do one more fight and then they do the rematch.

Not immediate rematch, BUT JDS deserves a rematch after 1 or 2 fights.

I wouldn't mind JDS getting it after winning one fight. Hell, Cain did.

Of course! JDS just needs a new game plan now that he's seen Cain's style. Plus we haven't heard, maybe he was injured and didn't fight to his potential.

Cain is hardly the better striker. He was able to setup punches because JDS was constantly going backwards and wary of the takedown. Cain's strategy and constant pressure made his striking look better, but in a boxing match it wouldn't be nearly as effective.

Cain did a good job getting JDS to tire early, thus dropping his hands and leaving himself open for a barrage of punches. JDS was trying to distance and land good shots instead of Cain's plan of just throwing everything he had.
