Mickey giggle now but make sure you dont develop serious imbalances ...because they come to bite you in the ass....my left side being weaker is creating issues for me now...which is not good quite obviously...lol

ever had your hip alignment checked out? sometimes serious muscle imbalances are caused by lower back tension, that causes your body to adjust in odd ways.

Case in point, my college roommate pitched on our baseball team...years and years of forceful stepping off the front of the mound have given him serious lower back issues (all caused by slight stress fractures, and growth fractures, that have caused his hips to compensate and misalign)
 
I used to have a chronic pulled right groin when I was 13. I fucking hate when i have nagging injuries. I'm going to try to build very equilaterally. We'll see how this turns out.
 
Never had the test done. But i do have a somewhat collapsed arch on right foot so it's possible.

finally got my blob50 from postoffice today. Guy at post office made me get my car to the parking lot(i parked 2 blocks away)...then made me pick it up and carry it to the car.....ahahaha....i really think it should be called blob100 because that thing feels twice heavier....I actually had this thought back in my head that I would maybe pick it up when i got it...AHAHAHA.....i barely pinched it with both hands...sigh...i am a big fucking pussy and will work on it...
 
Devil, Wes picked it up and he's only 17. Granted he's 6'5" and can close the 3.5 but common...
 
yea yea yea...he can also shut a weak #4......would be cool if he devoted himself to strength training outside of grip....

having big hands is of HUGE benefits to pinching/blob....so at 6'5 and probably close to 9" hands he's got a huge advantage...

best I could do was right+left thumb and index finger assisting....for only couple seconds...

amazing how some people can pick up a blob with each hand and do farmers walks...eh...

Couple weeks ago I asked this guy at my gym if I could join their 'rolling sessions' as they practice their bjj for tournies....he told me I need to figure it out with the other guys because he's not an instructor and this is not a class. So today I was observing their session between my sets while lifting. The combatives room is just down the hallway from lifting area. So one of the guys came out and asked if I was interested in practicing with them. So ofcourse I said I'd love to learn some bjj. So this guy showed me a few moves...I am still confused on full guard, mount, and other terms...he showed me rear naked choke hold, guillotine choke, arm bar, and 'keylock' on the shoulder....very cool moves.

I told them this was the first time I have EVER tried any form of MA so they would take it easy on me. It was a real eye opener how easily the 150lb guy positioned himself on me and completely pwned me. I felt like i was being in a hold of a python . I was being constricted with minimal effort on his part. On the flipside I had very difficult time getting 'hooks' in...i couldnt get my ankles under the legs of the guy due to shitty flexibility/balance. So definitely eye opened into my shitty flexibility/balance/etc. So hopefulyl I will try to start rolling with them regularly ...at least couple times a week. My groin pull was definitely irritating me a bit but wasnt too much of an issue...

Another friend offered to come with him to a class he's checking out next week on Krav Maga....so i will probably go and see what that's all about.
 
lol...it was literally 3-4 inch motion...I was working on the weak link in my chin ups....same thing in the pull ups...I am even worse in that last 1/5 in pull ups......hopefully it will help to the point where I can do 20 full chin ups.

Have you seen the Human Weapon episode on K.M.? I haven't watched it yet, but from what I know of it, it is brutal. I don't know if there is a sporting version of it though or if it is just a military life or death sort of thing. Keep us posted.

I've taken it (as far as taken I mean 4 weeks of blended training)..we only learned some basics, but it;s pretty interesting stuff....military H2H pretty much boils down to "if you lose your primary, pull your secondary; if you lose that, try to kill someone before you die"...
 
good workout. I want to try some kind of MMA but everything is so damn expensive.
 
yea cost is definitely an issue for me atm....so rolling with guys at the gym is going to be cool since it's free. Will find out how much the Krav Maga is and what they do there. Supposedly they also teach techniques for LEOs...(that's a separate class).

-bit of jump rope

-did few sets of 5 of pull ups/chin ups...felt pathetically weak...
-did couple sets of singles with 1 arm pull ups with 40lb counterbalanced on the rope....
-managed almost a rep with 40lb strapped to me with a rope....yea i was very weak today....prolly because I did pull ups friday...

about this point 2 guys showed up....one around 140, the other 160....18 and 20(thought they wer 15-16).....both pretty much assumed i was a boxer so I didnt want to disappoint them....and i was told i was 'swole'.....I asked them if they did others forms of lifting outside of their few sets of pull ups.....'nope...we're really against weight lifting...we're more into bw training...it's better for you'....asked if I did cleans and presses...which by the very fact that they even knew what those were raised my opinion of them(told them I did them once in a while but primarily squats, deadlifts, bench, ohp)...told them they better hit some deadlifts, squats, and ohp if they want to get stronger...they wont...i know it...

-did 20,20,20,40 close hand push ups..
-did 5 sets of 20 of band crunches and hip thusts(came up with it on the fly....I hang a band over the pull up bar..and used the bands resistance to crunch/bend at the waist and go with my hands between my legs....then as I came up I thrust my hips and rose up on my toes)
-3 sets of 20 of bw squats....good times..went below parallel...
-couple sets of singles of pistols....i held on slightly with right while going atg...went parallel with left while holding against the bar a bit more...
-did some stretching of quads, hams, calves, groin...

8PM END

-groin is feeling progressively better...::knock on wood:::
-got my supps today...fish oil capsules, cissus, celadrin, rhodiala,and beta-alanine...
 
no idea why last post didnt bump my log to first page...weird things are happening on sherdog....
 
should also add:

-did lots of grippers last week....lots of closes with HG400...worked up to almost 30 closes from about 1/2" right hand...left hand barely getting few reps...feels very awkward...
-got almost 4 reps right hand with HG300....right around my 2006 #3...
-got #3 for a single right hand then held it shut for over 10 sec...from about parallel/ccs
-did some HG150 individual 1-2 finger closes, reverse closes
-did some card tearing...worked up to 45 tough cards....then worked on tearing 1/2 of cards
-tried some lifts of my blob50..was able to break it off the ground for couple seconds with each hand+thumb and index finger or ring finger of other hand....this thing is a beast....

I posted a couple of videos of me deadlifting in my log. If you get a chance, can you take a look? I'm trying to get my pathetic deadlift numbers up so it does not fall further and further behind my squat. Thanks
